what's also lost in all of this was that they were legimately a 3 seed in the West before Butler went down with the injury last year. Granted the gap between HOU/GSW betwen the rest is pretty significant, they were still right there with Portland for the 3rd seed. In the 30 years they've been in existence, the Wolves have made the playoffs 9 times. Out of those 9 times, 8 of them ended up with a 1st Round exit. I can see why Glen Taylor is so thirsty of any playoff success.
Well the public mandate from the top brass makes that kind of harder now but there's an interesting rumour that the reason it took till September for all of this to develop is that Jimmy told Thibs early on that he wanted to be traded but Thibs would only tell ownership about horrible deals that were offered so that he could spend more time trying to make Jimmy stay. It is pretty weird that this all happened right before training camp and not during FA when it'd be more convenient for everyone involved. Either way Minny Thibs isn't long for this world.

Man, the way MDA talked about PJ at Media Day. CP going out of his way to say Tucker gonna get on players if they don't play D. Hard to say anyone is untouchable other than CP and Harden, but PJ feels pretty entrenched.
CP, Harden, Capela, Melo, Tucker, Green are the only untouchables IMO. For as much as we lament Tucker for being the HEART. Gerald Green has earned that status as well. If you're not one of those names, I'd have to believe Morey is shopping them HARD RN.

Even if he wasn't part of the team's heart and even if Coach didn't love him, James Harden would never approve of trading Tucker.
