Unfortunately Knight can't be traded with other players until the end of October. Butler will likely have been dealt by then.

You do realize the only reason the Wolves would even pick up the phone call from the Blazers re a CJ-Jimmy B swap is because how untenable the whole situation has become?

But I get you. It’s your FOMO as a Rockets fan that propelled your knee jerk response to my post.

    Am I missing something here?
To be clear. I’m saying it makes no sense for the Blazers to do a CJ for Jimmy swap. And that Minnesota would probably take that deal.
Don’t know what all this FOMO talk is about.

Minny would certainly take that deal before they take Eric Gordon. And the Rockets would miss out. Hence FOMO, fear of missing out.

Let me guess, you also thought breaking up the Trash Brothers instead of adding to them would be a lateral move?

You’re Exhibit A for why a perfectly rational deal doesn’t get done. Similar (though admittedly to a lesser degree) to why people resisted trading SF3 and Cat for T-Mac. Now imagine you only need to trade Cat for T-Mac (and I’d imagine some Rockets fans might still have said no).

Knight can't be traded by himself till end of Oct too. Rockets would have to wait till end of Oct in any scenario

In any scenario to include him. EG, Nene and Zhou works on the ESPN trade machine for Butler, but that seems improbable to me even if a couple of 1st rounders are added.

Wow. You would make a horrible GM. And don’t understand the NBA at all. But yeah I’m the reason the “rational” deal doesn’t get done. Not because you don’t know your head from your ass.
Why would the Blazers trade a player two years younger than Jimmy, less injury prone that’s not going to be a free agent next summer for Jimmy just so they could probably lose in the first round again? They understand to get over the hump they need to add to their top two.
As for your stupid assumptions about me and your Trash Brothers analogy, it doesn’t apply here. Ujiri got what he believes is the best player in the conference. The Raptors, being in the East, have a good chance to reach the finals. But you didn’t think about that did you? Or you just excluded that so you can make your argument.

@zcarenow I believe that is not right.
Knight cannot be packaged until end of Oct. But he CAN be traded by himself right now. At least according to everything online and according to TradeMachine.

That is a bit of overpay for a player that is injury prone especially for a rental.

Nene will be on the bench, Zhou will most probably play mostly in the G-League, and the two 1st rounders will be low picks.

I'm reluctant to see EG being traded for Jimmy Butler, but there is no other way to acquire him from Houston's point of view.
I doubt if Butler will be a Houston Rocket.

I guess we could eat Dieng's contract since he would actually fill a need here. Gordon, Nene, pick for Butler and then Knight for Dieng.

    Here is my initial offer:

    Gordon
    Zhou Qi
    2019 1st
    Salary filler

If Minnesota needs more, then I would add this:

Trade Chriss to a 3rd team for a low 1st, pick to Minnesota

    OR

    2021 1st Round Pick

MUCH rather trade Chriss than hamstring us with not being able to move a 1st until 2023, but I would probably still do it.

Tucker is not in any trade discussion. He is not as easily replaceable as some seem to think.

Knight has the potential to be our EG of last season. He maybe our ticket to spell the duty of EG leading our second unit. Hence we can now offer EG for Butler.

EG on any other non contending team can be a starter. He works well with Wiggins and Kats too.

If we can find a third team to take Gorgiui Diengs deal then we are a chance.
