For the last few days everyone has thought that winning this division was just a forgone conclusion..it would not surprise me in least if they blow this.
Smith came in and was horrible. Rondon opened the flood gates though. Even though the team has stunk quite often at home this year, this is the first time in a while boo birds started ringing down.
But if they win the division the playoffs will be. That’s a big problem with kluber and Bauer set to pitch. Those guys are just slightly better than the angels pitching staff which allowed 10 and 21 in Oakland.
It was well deserved. Miserable hitting and fielding. Only one Astro player out of the entire roster showed up today - verlander. Imagine what verlander thinks. He’d be a cy young candidate if his run support was simply below average instead of pitiful.
Give the L to Hinch. Deciding to build up Gas Can Rondon's confidence tonight in a one run game after his run of crap is inexplicable. Now Joe Smith melted down after having to clean up Rondon's mess. This bullpen is now a garbage fire and a lot of it stems from Hinch.
A.J Hinch Is just a terrible in game manager this year, Why Joe Smith was in there with a 1-0 lead, lol throwing a sidearm slider to 2nd Altuve was hilarious and still pitching to Trout cost Justin Verlander a Win. Verlander should've had 20 wins by now and more.
I don’t mean this personally to Hector as I obviously want every Astro to be/do great.... But lately Rondon has looked like he is RonDONE.
Last year I didn't even know who the hitting coach was lol, now I know he was a career Minor Leaguer, I think a Latin Hitting Coach who was an All Star in his career and high avg, power, rbi guy would be perfect in this role, but it seems like those guys never want the job.
I I think the Phillies in the 60s, The Phillies were desperate to win the Division and went with a 4 man rotation and it cost them the division, that's a story I heard, can anybody confirm what year was this?
