    Hmm...

I've been looking for Morey's account. This one is noted.

I read a couple of articles talking about potential offers for Butler and it seems like other teams would be able to beat us offering Gordon as the main piece of a package, on paper teams like Washington and Portland could offer Beal and CJ (even though they probably won't if they are not sure Butler will resign) and get it done...but for me that would just be a name thing, those guys for some reason have a bigger status than what they deserve.

Personally i agree with you, i really like Gordon, and even though he has some flaws (like every player) i'd still say he's kinda underrated. A lot of people would laugh if you mention him in the same tier as let's say CJ, but at half the salary, he's pretty much as good as an offensive player, but way better as a defender, give me Gordon at 13M any day over CJ "no more layups" McCollum at 26M.

Am I the only person who does not like McCollum’s game. Admittedly, I only watch when the Blazers play the Rockets but I’ve never seen him have a really good game. His game is too predicated on that mid range pull up and turn around. Not really high percentage shots.

he is a better player than EGO without question. EGO takes questionable shots and is less efficient at making them. he is also less consistent....but EGO is the better bargain, and he has more size. dont get it twisted, he is not on McCollums level at all though.

Whatever points CJ puts up is negated by the guy he's guarding. Gordon might not be an elite defender but he's miles better than CJ on that side of the floor. As for scoring, if you give the same amount of shots to Gordon that McCollum takes I'm sure they would have similar numbers.

the blazers were one of the top defensive teams last year so he must be doing something right. put mccollum in this offense and he would absolutely destroy second units in EGOs role. last year EGO would have one good game, then about 3-4 bad ones. dont get me wrong i like what he brings, but he isnt consistent enough to be on CJs level.

i would hate to see him go, but for butler it would be worth the risk. i would just hope we wouldnt lose PJ too. that would hurt.

I love that you put your picks out there but your tiers are weird to me. Most people agree Curry is top 5. We have no idea if Kawhi will ever be the same again; he played 8 games last year and looked real bad in all of them. Greek Freak is better than everybody in tier 2 except Curry and he's leaps and bounds better than Paul George. And I'm pretty sure McCollum isn't even the best player on his team, much less a top 15 player. Same for DeRozan who got benched in the final minutes of playoff games. And I think you're REALLY under-valuing Jimmy Butler. He's a true two-way star. I'd definitely agree guys like Kyrie and Lilliard are superior offensive talents but they're strictly one-way players.

Mine would look more like this:

T1: Lebron, KD, Harden, Curry, Anthony Davis and I'm throwing Antetokounmpo here too.
T2: CP3, Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid, and I'll go ahead and gamble that we'll see Kawhi return to close to form.3:
T3: Paul George, Damian Lillard, Kyrie, Gobert, etc.

Washington and Portland are two teams that will definitely inquire heavily about Butler. But Beal and CJ will not be offered. Those type of teams are looking to add to whatever stars they already have, not trade one of their stars for a slightly better one but is older and soon to be free agent.

Portland doesn’t stand a chance at landing him. Washington can offer up packages that include Otto and/or Oubre. The teams that I think will be willing to part with most are Pelicans Raptors Wizards Thunder Heat Blazers Rockets Bucks, because they have a team with enough star power that Butler will give them that extra push for a Championship/Finals/Deep Playoff Run depending on which one.

Honestly, we have the best player to offer from all those teams in Eric Gordon. But that’s not necessarily (and most likely not) what Minnesota is most interested in. He would make them better this year than any other package, but they won’t compete for much so they’ll probably want younger players to add to KAT, like (OG/Siakam), and/or a team that can offer more attractive picks (our first rounders are going to be 28th-30th).

I think their owner sounds sane, it's their managment that's garbage on fire.

Lets thank them stars for Morey and our FO.

let's just hope he doesn't end up with LAL, OKC, NOP, or TOR (assuming GS, UTA and BOS are not in play). basically any team that could potentially reduce our reg season wins or be a playoff threat

If Butler doesn't end up here, I hope he lands in the East. That would be nice.

He will end up on the Rockets for sure. I’m 99.7% sure at least.

He won’t end up in LA. They won’t give up Ingram AND Lonzo and that is the only way a trade is possible (salary wise). I think we’d still handle the Pelicans if they got him. OKC and Toronto would be a lot tougher than they are now.

Now that we've added Melo and Knight, Eric Gordon is a bit redundant. I love Eric, but we saw in last year's playoffs he wasn't getting enough touches with CP and James dominating the ball and he's gonna get even less touches with Melo joining the team. Jimmy Butler on the other hand is a small forward that can be inserted into the starting lineup and would fit better with the squad than Eric.

But I really hope that we can retain PJ Tucker. That would mean Nene is the only option we have to make the salaries works, which sucks but I think PJ is more important than Nene at this point. If Morey can pull this off without losing PJ, our 9-man rotation would be better than the Warriors IMO:

    Paul/Knight
    Harden/Green
    Butler
    Anthony/Tucker
    Capela/Chriss
