That’s dumb. I’d rather have the Hawks facilitate Butler to the Rockets. Hawks in: Dieng Rockets in: Butler Wolves in: Gordon, Bazemore and Nene (Salary filler) Idk what picks would need to move to make it work or if the wolves would be interested but it works financially.
Why do the Hawks accept this trade? Unless both Minni and the Rocks are throwing FRPs to take in an extra year of $15M salary. Even then, why pay an extra $15M for lower FRPs. Doesnt make much sense. If he was expiring, it would be a different story.
Like I said, idk what picks would have to go where. The Hawks were reportedly willing to trade Bazemore for Ryno, Melton and a first so it isn’t a completely unfounded idea. Maybe a first from Houston would have to go to both Minny and Atlanta. I’m not the person to ask what draft picks are worth. I’m just a fan with an idea.
That's because Anderson and Bazemore had an equal amount of years. Dieng has an additional year than Bazemore. I don't feel lower FRPs would carry that kind of value and there is no reason for Minni to send out FRPs if they are already trading Butler.
I did find that last year we had trouble defending true power forwards. Blake Griffin and Montrezz did well against us, for example. I can't imagine how much worse it would get without PJ. You won't run into that problem against too many teams in the NBA these days, though. Just a note.
I’m just trying to find a way to include Dieng in the trade. I think that is what’s going to be the keystone to the whole deal. If the rockets can be creative and find a taker for Dieng then they could come out in front.
Wait a minute all that Jimmy Butler stuff aside, Gerald Green is not close to the player that EG is, not nearly as consistent as isnt as good defensively.
Where’s the report that Townes wouldn’t sign until Butler situation resolved? Curious who the source was.
