There are many that believe Nixon was a more skilled debater than Kennedy. But the viewing public went Kennedy, hard.
Beto is directly receiving money from Hollywood scums, the most degenerate people on the planet. Hollywood Hosting Another Beto Fundraiser | The Pursuit of Happiness | KPRC AM 950 Beto O’Rourke, Seeking to Oust Cruz, Returns to L.A. for Fundraiser – Variety
LOL... speaking of Hollywood, Cinemark is a cruz donor... https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/toprecips.php?id=D000066837&cycle=2016
Ironic thing about your statement is that Trump himself was Hollywood and definitely degenerate scum and you still voted for him.
you can watch the whole thing here... ive only watched about 15 minutes, but ill watch the rest when i can. cruz is a good debater and is obviously intelligent, but jesus christ that dude is a total slimeball. the fear-mongering, blatant lies/distortions, politicizing the officer geiger/apartment shooting and tying flag burning to kneeling. just a relentless and shameless sleazebag. if i was the DNC/beto campaign here is what i would do...from now till the election flood tv and billboards with ads showing nothing but tweets and quotes from trump and trumpublicans talking about how terrible cruz is. trumps tweet about how "lyin" ted has done nothing for texas trumps tweet about how his dad was involved in the jfk assasination trumps tweet about how melania is hotter than his wife quote from lindsey graham about how cruz could be killed on senate floor and nobody would convict quote from george w bush - "i just dont like the guy" show video where ted was trying to kiss his daughter and she pulls away then flicks at his face. buy every billboard you can going to any place that trump will be holding a rally so all his dumb-ass sycophants have to see them when they are driving in.
what's tough for Beto is part of his appeal is his good guy likeability. I know mud slinging works for politics, but if Beto engages in it too much it takes away a big distinction between him and Cruz. Kind of a dilemma because the quotes you list are powerful.
Thanks for the very thoughtful reply. I agree with a lot, but not all of it. Just a couple of things I would say for now: This is very easy to tell with businesses in the free market, unless they are cooking the books a la Enron. But eventually that gets discovered too. So I don't think these things are comparable. With a business, you can easily look at items produced per day or hour, sales/net income per quarter etc. With government -- teachers, the military -- yes, it's harder to measure, and that was my point. Which is why I think we need to quit throwing money at everything. Money can solve somethings, but it can't solve everything. With regard to teacher compensation, I think I would tend to disagree. They get at least 6 weeks off in the summer, a boatload of days off around Christmas, and many more holidays besides, that people working for private businesses don't get. I don't get President's Day off. I don't get MLK day off. I do think teachers are important, but they need to recognize that they are choosing to work less than they would in other professions. That's going to impact their compensation. That, and working for the government. I had a geometry teacher in high school that recognized this tradeoff. I recall him telling me that he could have made a lot more money working for the private sector, but he did not want those hours. I wish other teachers were this honest with themselves. Of course, a lot of teachers may not be able to make more in the private sector than they would teaching; thus the selection of their profession. Lastly, I make this argument when anyone brings up ostensible inequities regarding teachers, the military, or the police: they chose their professions. They weren't drafted.
No, had he stood up to Trump and confronted him face to face he would be running away with this Senate race. It would have created a defining moment for Cruz and helped change the perception that he is a sniveling, spineless coward.
Good for Ted. Didn’t do any new stuff, just put out the hits his base wants to hear. O’Rourke is a solid candidate and a seemingly good dude. I’m just not sure this way of political maneuvering is going to work anymore. Republicans have basically decided “eff with morals and ethics”. Democrats should do the same if they expect to win. They are the more intelligent party, just not the more politically saavy (slimy). Fear wins.
who is going to be more responsible with the nations finances, spending and debt? ted has shown himself to be very fiscally irresponsible with his support of the trump tax cuts, that were heavily weighted towards the wealthiest americans AND will add $1 trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years. ted supports wasting $25 billion of taxpayer money on an unnecessary and impractical wall with mexico (wait...i thought mexico was going to pay for it...lol)
The guy won’t even stand up to defend his family. Cruz is as slimy and spineless as it gets. It’s not irrelevant as it speaks to his complete lack of character and having a backbone.
To those who are saying that Ted was a slimeball, I want to point out that he only brought Beto's voting record and positions he supports. When asked about the DWI incident Ted decline to get into Beto's personal life.
