That's why they have agents. Do you think Butler actually texted Woj that list.

I was trying to explain the convoluted logic of TheCat is using to make sense of the list...whereby the agent was prepared for post-meeting actions, based upon the interest of his client. My only take-away is that the meeting didn't go well, because that list doesn't help Thibs move him.

Cyber broke nothing. A meeting between Butler and Thibs was announced to all. Morey is going to inquire about every star looking to be traded except point guards.

A lot of what Jimmy can do would be wasted with us because CP3 and MVP can simply do it better.

I really like Jimmy for his toughness, grit, and work ethic. I think he would be a wonderful fit on this team defensively, but offensively I’m not so sure. He scores best when he creates his own shot (usually a mid-range pull up). He isn’t much of a 3-point shooter (35% last year) and I could see him really getting frustrated by being relegated to being entirely off-ball.

Maybe I’m crazy, but the more I think about it, the more I’d rather just keep EG and PJ—especially after his BS “list” came out.

I bet he'd only get offered 5% raises on a 5-year deal. It would still be a pretty large overpay with him making around 37.5 and 39.5 mill in his 4/5 year at 34/35 y/o.

8% raises on a 5 year is just a bit too ridiculous for the player he is

Just an FYI, the Rockets cannot package Knight with another player in a trade until the end of October.

fwiw: This was posted by listener from the KFAN-FM radio station in Minnesota. The Dan Barreiro guy hasn't tweeted such a thing, though.

So, this could be a listener embellishing upon what they heard wrt not showing up to camp.

In a sense, wouldn't that be what hee's trying to do if he signs with NYN?

Kyrie Irving wanting in on the Knicks can't be a coincidence to how Jimmy B made up that list. If he truly was trying to "build something himself" he'd be in Chicago right now as they develop Lauir Markennen Wendel Carter, Bobby Portis, and Denzel Valentine.

That's building something from scratch. Super team chasing betas.... +1

This is how I’ve always felt about Butler and ONE of the reasons why I have an issue giving up Tucker in a deal.

I think he’s a very good, but not great player. Also feel like he’s not the best of teammates. If Morey could land him for EG, picks and filler I’d be good. Otherwise I just don’t like it all that much.

Cutting into depth and chemistry is not something I’m all that keen on doing.

We already do have a play style though.

Butler would take an enhanced version of Ariza's role with some additional creation duties particularly when we are resting CP3

It can be two separate transactions, no big deal.

Oh I agree, I think he’d be good too. I just want him and Tucker.

it's a big deal because neither Gordon nor Knight's salary is enough to do a one for one swap for Butler.

Not it didn't. I thought so too at first, because @zeeshan2 posted this in the Dish thread. But I just think reddit links posted here have a problem.

It's there. Just go to r/nba and scroll a little.

NOTE: this is just a reported listener of the show. Could be he embellished on what he heard as refusing to report to camp.
