The people that claim they voted for Trump because of Supreme Court judges were always going to vote and they were always going to vote for the Republican candidate.

The only way this hurts the Democrats is if the allegations are completely discredited and that isn’t likely. The Republicans can vote and approve Kavanaugh and all that does is inflame women and the #metoo movement as it will be the second Republican on the court that has been acussed of sexual harassment. It is not a good look for the Republicans.

The more things continue, the more you will see women voters that otherwise would be apolitical or potential moderate Republicans vote for the Democrats.

The Republican President has had numerous sexual assault allegations, the VP will not meet alone with a woman at work, now a Supreme Court nominee has been accused of attempted gang rape... and the President has responded by calling him a great guy.

The Republicans could be setting themselves up for a real battle getting the female vote.

    No she doesn’t.

All she has to do is convince a small number of senators that her story is believable enough to not support the confirmation of Kavanaugh. This isn’t a criminal case or even a civil case.

Democrats have 4 pickup opportunities right now, with Nevada leaning Dem, Tennessee/Arizona looking like toss-ups, and Texas leaning GOP. That said, they also have a handful of seats of their own they could lose.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that this is a trial to put Kavanaugh in jail. She really just has to establish enough credibility to make a handful of Republicans vote no.

If they are attempting to ascertain the truth behind these accusations, they should take advantage of every opportunity to interview both parties.

On the other hand, if the goal is to delay and push back any nomination vote with the intended goal of having the election come first....then it makes total political sense.

I know if I looked through all of your posts you have said something similar about Trump, right?

By this standard of guilt and sleeze through association, Trump should be thrown in jail for a 1,000 years.

What about Trump and all his connections to people with connections to Putin? You're using the same logic now that you were just a few weeks ago bemoaning and crying about...except in Trump's case, there's actual evidence and not conjecture like you are using here.

There will be testimony from both on Monday.

I don’t doubt that there are democrats that want to postpone the confirmation until after the election, but that is a foolish strategy in my opinion.

Yeah but no "repressed memories" that were "discovered" via psychotherapy has any credibility whatsoever, and that's what this is. She might as well have said that she "discovered" the memory in a mushroom induced spirit dream, it would be no less credible than the debunked pseudoscience of psychotherapy "discovering" repressed memories, hell it's been proven that you are more likely to end up creating false memories than truly discovering a repressed memory. The shrink tells you that your problems are likely caused by childhood sexual trauma and that you repressed the memory so you end up inventing a story to fit what the shrink suggested. In some cases people become convinced that they were molested by their parents, in this instance it seems like she invented a scenario where affluent kids from that school tried to rape her and then later gave those kids politically convenient names.

That said, I have no doubt that she believes her story, that's how it works with false memories, it's just that her story has literally no credibility whatsoever and should be dismissed pretty quickly after hearing it.

Are what abouts allowed in 2018? It seems like everyone always shuts those down now. Trump is a train wreck and always has been.

What exactly are you talking about?

You are trying to discredit this woman because his mother was the judge in a foreclosure case against her parents?????

on this most recent accusation of sexual assault on a minor, insofar as attacking the accuser, the Trump WH has been uncharacteristically silent

it is so unlike the WH's attack on / dismissiveness of Roy Moore's accusers

NPR's Yamise Alcindor has been reporting that, today after Grassley's annoucement of a hearing for Prof Ford and BK next week,
BK went to the WH. altho he was at there WH at the time, Trump never met BK

my sense is that the WH is trying to distance itself from B K

    my bold prediction,

B K will resign his nomination, there will be no hearing for Professor Ford

Ay dios mio...I just thought it was crazy when I saw it pop up.

I think her claims stand for themselves. I’m curious what more will come out.

Strange defense - if one person steps forward and confirms he was at the party it's all over for him.

I tend to feel this way too, but Kav doesn’t seem to be backing down yet. I was just thinking today it was funny how we haven’t heard much from Trump.

I think Trump could probably get Hardiman through pretty easily.
