Sure, but that's not the basis of his campaign, never has been. There's a difference between merely having a nickname and making a nickname your entire campaign. "Beto" doesn't run on any platform, he just says "vote for Beto" and then goes around talking about everyone being friendly to each other. He's actively hoping to avoid ever having to talk about his position on the issues if possible in order to keep his campaign focused on the nickname and vague nonsense you might hear from an inspirational speaker.
He's spelled out his platform over the time he's been in office and during the time he ran for president.....also he's willing to debate the issues so that there's no question where he stands for the few people who don't already realize. Again, contrast that to Whitey O'Rourke coming from random West Texas shithole running on a nickname and inspirational speaking outings across the state who refuses to debate the issues.
I really did though. You are asking what an incumbent is running on....there's no mysteries when it comes to an incumbent. When it comes to random person from West Texas Shithole that is intentionally trying to keep their stances a secret....that's different.

He's an incumbent and he's not even really running a campaign right now, he's spending his time being a senator. My point was that everyone knows where Ted Cruz stands on the issues due to previous campaigns, his failed presidential campaign, and his record of actually doing the job. When it comes to Whitey O'Rourke, most people don't know where he stands on any issue because he doesn't really talk about it and is actively avoiding any situation where he'd be grilled on his stances. That honestly shouldn't be difficult to understand.

I wasn't saying you couldn't track them down, I'm saying that he doesn't run on any of his stances and he actively wants to avoid having to defend his stances on anything. He knows the more he talks about the issues, the less his chances of winning.
Beto has been in Congress for the same period that Cruz has been in senate. Neither can really be seen as an unknown.
It's not so much liking him as it is I know that he's likely to support the right things most of the time and oppose harmful things most of the time. Personally I'd prefer a candidate that is considerably more libertarian than Cruz and a lot more likable, but you can't always get what you want. When the alternative is a guy who brings up the "gender pay gap" which isn't actually a thing, runs on banning AR-15's and ending Concealed Carry Reciprocity. Someone who is running on universal healthcare, preventing immigration enforcement and giving citizenship to anyone who happens to make it into the country by any means which is de-facto open borders. These are the issues that he doesn't want to have to say he supports to a broad audience. I mean, if there was a serious alternative to Ted Cruz, that's who I'd vote for, but there isn't one.
Just went to each person's website, no need to track down anything. I dont see the need for the double standard - neither candidate is pushing their stances on any thing. If Cruz is not doing it, dont see the need for Beto to, and if its important to those who want to vote for him, they can check his website or ask him at a gathering.
and most people dont know anything about their politicians beyond which party they belong to. For those that find it important, they will find out what they need to know - the info is readily available
