What’s great is that all these minor league teams that are reaching the playoffs will very likely return their rosters intact to begin next season. Here’s my current projected 2019 opening day roster for each level, with 2018 regular season wRC+ or fip for that level (perenthesis is stat from lower level if the player projects to be promoted): AAA: CF Ferguson 138/Straw 83 LF Fisher 113 3B Davis 156 RF Alvarez 111 1B Jones 75 DH Goetzman (81) SS Mayfield 101/DeGoti 101 C Stubbs 120/Ritchie 155 2B Tanielu 96 Rotation: Rodgers 4.28, Thornton 4.01, Armenteros 4.42, Dykxhoorn 3.75, Hartman (2.96) Bullpen: Sneed 3.89, Bostick 4.35, Deetz 3.04, Guduan 3.36, Scheetz (3.07), McCurry 3.65, Ramsey 3.85, R Ferrell 4.89 Extras: Reed 113, Nunez 52, Gustave, Martes, Thompson, Emanuel 4.25, Garza 4.75 AA: CF Dawson 133 2B Rojas 99 DH Matijevic (136) 1B Cesar 113 LF Benedetti 122 3B Toro 89 RF Wrenn 90/McCormick 94 SS Duarte (109)/A Sierra 50 C Robinson (87)/Quintana 116 Rotation: Whitley 3.34, C Martin 3.29, Bukauskas 1.79, Bielak 3.57, Bailey 5.56, Adcock 4.46, Saldana (2.38), J Hernandez (2.92) Bullpen: J Ferrell 3.56, Blanco 4.19, Pinales 4.03, N Hernandez Extras: De Oleo, Birk 61, Winkelman 4.46, Quiala 4.52, Heredia, C Sierra 7.71 A+: CF Julks 131 RF Meyers 101/Taylor (122) LF Beer 110 1B Adams 91 DH De La Cruz 119/LaCroix (105) 3B Shaver 104 SS Arauz 41 C Papierski (91)/Castro (128) 2B Dawson (60)/Hensley (81) Pitchers: Ivey 2.56, Javier 4.00, Solomon 1.62, L Rodriguez (3.38), Mushinski (3.19), Donato (2.38), Collado (1.82), B Abreu (2.10), Castellanos (2.09), E Sandoval (2.50), DeJuneas 5.13, Paredes 2.61 Extras: Canelon 68, Bohanek 78, Marquez 0, Angarita 61, LaRue 4.22, G Valdez 4.17, Y Ramirez 3.91, Sanabria 4.25, Duncan 5.28, Feldmann 6.96, McKee 4.15 A: LF Costes 119 2B Valdez (116) CF McKenna 117 RF Machado (123)/A Pineda (115) 1B Encarnacion (124)/Schreiber 82 DH R Rodriguez (113) 3B M Sierra 83/Wielansky (88) SS Pena (100) C Salazar 91/Holderbach 83 Pitchers: Solis 3.74, Garcia 3.73, N Rodriguez, F Tejeda, Ruppenthal, Daniels, Hansen, Deason, H Paulino 3.82, Freure, Hardy, France Extras: Mattix 43, Dennis (90), Campos (90), Rosado 4.14, Moclair, Cabral, Conn, Dubin, Billingsly, Rivera, Henderson, Bravo, C Hiraldo, House, Gonzalez, H Martin A-: CF J Ramirez (91) 3B Urdaneta (117) SS Nova (120) 1B DRAFT LF DRAFT DH DRAFT RF Abreu (80)/Santana 224 C Perry 59/Paulino (82) 2B Carrasco 82/S Mendoza (109) Bench: DRAFT X4, H Martinez (89) Pitchers: JP Lopez, M Ramirez, Jaquez, Rivera, Macuare, Medina, Mejias, Solano, Schroeder, DRAFT X8 Extras: J Pineda 57 Rk: SS Cueta 66 CF Carrillo (94) 3B Perez 166 LF Mascai (110) 1B DRAFT DH DRAFT C N Rodriguez 63/J Alvarez (150) RF Pinto (82)/A Castillo (93) 2B J Castillo (80)/J Mendoza (95) Bench: DRAFT X5 Pitchers: Robaina, E Rodriguez, Jimenez, Oberto, Bellozo, JA Hernandez, Tokar, J Lopez, Torres, DRAFT X8 Extras: Diaz 51, Sanchez 24, Y Ramirez 71, Figueroa, Bello, Chavez, Bermudez, F Garcia, Serrano, Guerrero
It seems the top guys continue to prove themselves in the minors, and some other guys had rebound seasons. A few guys who played themselves into intriguing status. Overall, I think the Astros brass should be very happy with the stock pile of talent they have in the system. And this depth will play a pivotal role in keeping the player cost control at the Major League level.
Major changes over this season: Traded away: Moran, Martin, Alcala, H Perez, Celestino, D Paulino, Laureano, P Sandoval Lost in Rule 5: E Hernandez Graduated: Davis Pending graduates: C Perez, James, Deetz, F Valdez, K Tucker Upgraded from “good” to “great”: C Martin, Y Alvarez, C Perez Upgraded from “interesting” to “good”: James, F Valdez, Deetz, Nova, Ivey, Solomon Good prospects added in the draft: Beer, Schroeder Downgraded from “good” to “interesting”: J Perez, Arauz, Armenteros, J Solis Everybody else pretty much held steady or is still an unknown. But again, the real standout trait of this system is the pitching depth; all the guys who we can’t spend the time to talk about, some of whom threw less than 40 innings this year but by this time next year will be on par with James, F Valdez, and C Martin.
So, Corpus's season is over, and Jones was promoted. Was this JUST to keep his season going, or is this to get ready to make another callup (Tucker, please). Not too familiar with Minor League Rules, does this mean a corresponding move for Fresno has to be made?
Maybe. He’s past the threshold of meaningful innings there but not to the normal point where improvement plateaus. It wouldn’t shock me if hey started him in AAA but for now I predict he will get another handful of starts in Corpus before moving up.
Luhnow said there would be additional callups (1 or 2 guys, were his words) if they got knocked out of the AAA playoffs last weekend. They were not, so whenever, whatever, we can expect a couple of guys from Fresno to show up eventually. Or not.
He needs another chance. Also, if Springer's thumb is worse than reported, we can use that extra OF. Sorry, but holding an MLB division lead> winning a AAA championship.
I understand. I'm just asking for ANOTHER CHANCE (for Tucker). Not to sound asinine, but please tell me that the Grizzlies winning the AAA title won't increase the odds of them staying our AAA affiliate. I really want RR (or SA) next year.
It won't (why would we care that they won a title in California, the location of the AAA team had nothing to with that) and he will get another chance. Just not is the heat of a pennant race in September. He will be up early next season, probably after his service time from this season is offset.

Perhaps just being around the big leaguers would be helpful. Get him more comfortable in the environment and the spotlight. Wouldn't even need to play, just pick up some tips and learn some things from the experienced folks
