Not by the large counter culture or the millions of others in the anti war movement. The mainstream had an issue with his malcolm x and nation of Islam associations , but he was too large to truly be hated. You had angry op Ed's by david suskind and the like in their attempt at nationalism and media propaganda at a time of war, but if you ask the people, they weren't too sussed.

What previous dialogue? There was little dialogue about this until BLM brought it up and I remember people didn't like that either.

It wasn't so much of a dialogue as it was a group rioting every time a black criminal attacked a cop and was rightfully shot....in fact, that's what started the kneeling BS, it was an effort to bring attention to a case where a black criminal armed with a stolen gun was rightfully shot by a black cop.

The problem with the kneelers and BLM before them is that they don't actually have a legitimate cause....but it doesn't stop them from pretending that they do. That lack of credibility has always been the biggest issue.

Nope, they've definitely had a legitimate cause. Just because you deny stats and numbers doesn't mean everyone else does. Keep ignoring the issue though and keep acting surprised about why blacks overwhelmingly vote democrat.

Because of rhetoric exactly like this, people like you are the exact reason black people vote democrat. Congrats.

You say that they have a legitimate cause while ignoring every major case the movement was built on ended up being false narratives. You cite numbers, but most of the time the numbers don't say what you think they say or are explained by the violent crime statistics. As to black people overwhelmingly voting Democrat, LBJ bought that vote for what he said would be 200 years, 50+ years later, it's looking like he was right. Eventually Republicans might foil the Democrats by once again ending the practice of owning people, but till then it is what it is. They have the bill of sale.

The movement wasn't based on any one case in the first place lol.

The numbers are pretty damning. Especially the ones about black people in court that do the same crime and get longer sentences, that particular study, was pretty thorough. You also have the fact that blacks are more often exonerated at a higher rate...which means many are going to prison that don't even belong there. We have a bunch of anecdotal cases that back these facts too, you may know of a few...

An incredibly racist statement from you.

Apparently, you think black people are not capable of individual thought.

Notice how I didn't say any 1 specific case, other than the kneeling BS which was based on 1 specific case. What I said was "every major case", and yes, every major case where BLM showed up to do their rioting BS ended up being a false narrative where they were out in the street supporting people who were rightfully shot by police.

No part of what I said was racist and I never suggested that black people were incapable of individual thought. I just pointed out how a cynical, racist party set out to purchase the minds of black people, telling everyone that's what they were doing, and how thus far it has been successful. The party of slavery found another way to enslave black people by enslaving their minds rather than their bodies this time around. Slaves never reach their full potential, so commenting on what they do isn't suggesting that they aren't capable of more....in fact the assumption should be that they are capable of much more, they just aren't being allowed to realize it.

I certainly hope LBJ was wrong and that it doesn't last 200 years.

You must realize that BLM protesters did a lot of protesting, you just followed the ones they showed on Fox News I think...

No, you are suggesting it by continuing this racist 'Democrat plantation' narrative. If I called Clarence Thomas an Uncle Tom you'd flip right the F out about it and you'd be right to do that.

I think any rational person would simply ask a black person why they vote democrat. I can give you several reasons why I vote democrat and why others I know vote democrat, at least when it comes to race issues.
    • Republicans sill have not condemned a rather openly racist Iowa representative
    • A Conservative judge that suggested black people should be on a slow track when it comes to education.
    • A president that said neo-nazis were very good people
    • A continuing effort to restrict votes
    • Showing 0 empathy towards any issue that affects black communities, like the one mentioned in this thread. Completely ignoring, completely dismissing, and doing nothing about it.
    • A lack of outreach, basically doing little to 0 work campaigning in black communities. They just concede it to Democrats...which...SURPRISE...Democrats win because they at least reach out their hand.
    • Fox News...
    • In fact, Bill O'Reilly, Limbaugh, and other conservative hosts have said some VERY openly racist things...and yet remained popular among conservatives. It would have been nice if conservatives threw them off radio/television when they said these things, but nope. Instead a lot of them made excuses for them.
    • Because an athlete kneels and conservatives flip their f'n lid and then say things like "Shut up and just play ball"
I mean I could go on...but all these little things add up to basically 'Yeah, I don't trust these guys with power, pass.'

    History lesson.

Black people were mostly Republican after the whole freeing slaves thing...oh, and Lincoln was a racist.
Black people are mostly Democrat after the whole civil rights thing...oh and LBJ was a racist.

So, guess what? It has little to do with what LBJ said, it's what LBJ DID that matters. What he did was fight for civil rights and since then the Democratic party has carried that torch while the GOP picked up a strategy focused on striking fear into their white base about the 'others'. IDGAF if he used the n-word 20x a day, he cleared the way for civil rights, I'm more of an actions guy.

It's almost like...hmmm..it's almost as if people are voting their interest? Black people, by and large, vote for civil rights, because I FEEL a lot of us still feel like there are things to be done for civil rights. Some don't, I think those that don't or those that vote by their religion are more likely to become conservatives. Unlike you, I don't attack black people because they don't agree with me politically. I'd rather listen to why they vote this way or that then assume.

I know this was a waste of key presses for me because you aren't interested in a conversation, if you were, you'd respond to what I've actually said, consider it, then reply. Instead, you will ignore it, spit out the same 'BLACKS JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOOD FOR THEM! THEY ARE ON THE DEMOCRATIC PLANTATION!" nonsense and continue to be the perfect example of why black people don't vote red...because when I talk to people that vote red online, there almost seems to be a 50/50 chance they say silly crap like this...

So, I know what to expect. I'll respond if you say anything differently other than your previous argument.

An argument, by the way, that has 0 proof, 0 evidence, and is basically entirely conjecture and assumptions.

You can't prove what you're saying, it's virtually impossible. The only reason you think black people don't vote Republican because in your mind you either vote Republican or there is something wrong with you. You are a radical, so for you this conclusion is natural. "Well, obviously if they were thinking correctly they'd vote Republican, must means they are being tricked into voting Democrat! I bet Soros is paying them too!"

I wonder if you can respond without once mentioning an old disputed LBJ quote?

I spoke of every major case, not just one or two. Every single major case where BLM protested turned out to be nothing but them pushing a false narrative and rioting over a rightful police shooting. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. That's why those who aren't completely blinded by bias can see that they have a legitimacy problem and it's also why you don't see them pop up as often and as early these days when you hear about a police shooting and when they do, their numbers are incredibly small.

You can only cry "wolf" so many times ya know.

That's not suggesting that they are capable, it's suggesting that they aren't being allowed to....which is true for the most part.

I'm sure you have before, just like many, many others have, after all that's what black people get for daring to think for themselves and that's my point. No other group goes after people as consistently and as viciously for daring to think for themselves and as such no other group blindly supports a political party quite the same. You can excuse it away, but you can't change the facts.

    Proof?

What is your actual proof that black people are being forced to vote democrat?

Nope, I never have. Do you have proof of me saying I have? No, but I do have proof of you running this lame plantation narrative.

Yes, according to you if you are black and democrat you aren't thinking for yourself but if you are black and republican than you are a great individual thinker!

You haven't presented a SINGLE fact in the above posts. Not a single one.

You've brought forth your own assumptions of why black people vote democrat, assumptions backed up by absolutely 0 data.

Now I've listed you several reasons why I vote democrat, you completely ignored them (Surprise surprise) and did the exact thing I knew you would do lol...You'd repeat the SAME thing over again without providing any proof or data or evidence behind your point. Thinking that if you say it enough it'll make it true or something, I don't know.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. This whole narrative is false, anecdotal, and not backed by actual evidence or data and is a fantasy conservative talking point that black people outcast family members if they vote red.

In fact, when Kanye West did it, and many of you wingnuts came out with "NOW HE WILL BE OUTCAST!" Two of his friends backed him, Legend and Chance the Rapper...and he continued to go on and release an album with Nas...NAS of all people...he hasn't been outcast for anything, you take twitter jokes and twitter jokers too serously.

A lot of conservatives think 'Having a different opinion' is being attacked lol.

    Ah, nothing then. Expected.

Maybe you should have some data or substance behind your next bombastic statement then.

You clearly aren't operating within the parameters of reality and I don't feel like discussing the topic with someone that will play dumb just to drag out a conversation longer than it has to be. There's literally no chance you don't know about what I'm talking about.

I think it's hilarious that you think you know why black people vote democrat more than actual black people.

Talk about operating outside the parameters of reality, you're apparently Professor X.

Haha, sure, whatever. 'Not an argument...' is what i'd say. It would be nice to dodge out of an argument with such an excuse though.

Again, I've made my point several posts ago Bobby. You could actually LISTEN to why black people vote Democrat or you can continue to ignore it and go with a divisive narrative by calling them slaves on a plantation.

Either you have data to back up your claim or you are actually Professor X and know exactly why black people vote the way they do. I'd like to know which one is it. If you don't have the data or evidence to back up your bombastic claim then I will presume that perhaps you are Professor X (or at least think you are) and that would explain how you are jacked into the minds of millions of people.

If there is no data then at least admit that there isn't. Maybe you'd learn that it's hard to back up such wild claims and wouldn't do so in the future...or at least throw out an anecdote. Instead, you've relied on gifs and mudslinging, which, I'm happy to return but in the end we'd both look the fools.

According to you "Black people are forced to vote Democrat" is so obvious...so it really shouldn't be that hard to back up such an obvious claim.

To paraphrase Kavanaugh, I don't want to get within three zip codes of this dispute between you and BTG. But I recalled reading about "social pressure" theories of voting behavior (and I know this is way different than saying black people "are being forced" to vote democrat) and went looking for the reference. I think it's this one that was linked from a WaPo article originally.

    https://www.cambridge.org/core/jour...elf-interest/067DAC12A46715BAFAF1172F239AEA1F

I have NOT read this study so I can only take WaPo's word for what it says.

    Here's the WaPo article link:

I can listen to your spin for days and it wouldn't give me any valid insight into the issue. What I've personally witnessed and accounts by people I know such as friends or family members that don't have an agenda as you do are infinitely more valid. You can pretend that there isn't pressure on black people to stay on the Democratic party plantation, but I know for a fact that there is.
