If you were humble you wouldn't make these declarations in a new thread and act like you are the top basketball mind in the universe - but that's what you do. You stick with a sinking ship - you were wrong in an incredibly obvious way.

Maker is a guy who hasn't put up any kind of numbers in this league yet - and there's no guarantee he'll even last 2 more years with how long and frail looking he is - the history of very tall big men isn't great when it comes to durability. The vast majority of 7'+ footers who play heavy minutes break-down before they are 30.

You ask for highlights and then reject the highlights as cherry picking. Capela played well the entire playoff series. He created a lot of problems in the paint for the warriors, and neutralized much of their PnR with very intelligent defense. Capela is such a great defender both inside and the perimeter which is why he can stay on the court despite having no outside jumper.

Does Maker have the potential to be better than Capela someday? Sure. He's got a better shot and you can't teach height. But it's alarming that no one knows how old he is and he isn't showing improvement.

You can't win a championship this year betting on long-term potential. But you can win betting on Capela

I assume holic is the real life version of Dwight Schrute but without the farming knowledge.

He's the main reason why Donavan Mitchell wasn't scoring at will in the paint.

How many picks would we have to include in a trade to get rid of @basketballholic?

You don't get it because you are new (unless you are also an old poster using a new account like bbholic is :D).

He might have followed the Rockets for 44 years. We have definitely "followed" him for a good portion of that 44 years. If he has a right to talk about Rockets, we certain have a right to talk about him.

You have not been here long enough to witness the greatness that is basketballholic. Just read my sig for just a small sample size of the greatness.

He won't. He'll never admit to being wrong, unless it's about something that no one really cares about. It isn't in his DNA. When Hell freezes over waiting for 'Holic to admit to being wrong, what will the fellow do? Ask the Devil for another coat.

It's just sad. When you are a guy that falls into the semantics of it all, rather than support the team (or more specifically players) you would prefer to either 1.) minimize their impact or 2.) cheer on YOUR guy over a guy the Rockets are investing time, money, and efforts into.

If he truly is a fan of the Rockets and has been for 44 years (I call BS because he said he'd been watching basketball for that long) he would support the team's choices in players with potential and progress throughout their career. Especially if that player is actually amounting to something.

But you keep cheering on your Makers, Uthoffs, and whatever next marginal scrub you decide to kill everyone else's time arguing on. It's literally worthless.

I'm not saying the Rockets are always right, they are FAR from it, but at least admit that they've done a good job when something works out when you predicted the contrary for the longest time.

I think we're missing the big picture here. Holic admits he's wrong by finally removing "profound" signatures:

    * The one about the Rockets never making the WCF with Capela as our starting center? Gone.

    * The one about "James 'Pistol Pete' Harden" being a crappy point guard? Gone.

Let's be a little more thankful around here! :)

How dare you besmirch Dwight Schrute's name? Dwight had integrity. If he lost a bet he would pay up.

Agree with some of this. I though our system out played kat and rg. And I think they were outcoached. I think a healthy Luc replacing Capela witted have yielded the exact same results or better against Minny and Utah. And I also think a healthy Luc replacing all of Capela's minutes may have put us over the top against the Warriors.

He also was our weak link on defensive switches. The Warriors picked on him practically every set possession they came up with.

Watch the games. He was the weakest link of our rotation guys against the Warriors.

The trade would have been admit long term development. We weighs have signed somebody else to play center and had Maker for 4 years to develop while paying minimum salary for another rim runner.

The next evolution in our system is a pick and pop 5 man that can and will shoot the three and still be able to run pnr when the opportunity is there.

We could have win a championship this season with that upgrade.

    Show me the highlights....

We got a couple minutes. That's all. That's all we got.

    Show me all those highlights.
