thibs is the only one left to make this guy an offer. other than that he will play in china or retire. as an aside... how much cap space does this open up for LA this year? they might become players for some key remaining FAs like hood, young, crawford... not like that makes them contenders but it can bolster their depth and help their chances in the playoffs.
Depends on how many years they pay of Deng for. If it turns into 4 years, it frees up 8 mil per year.
next summer was always their goal... but they are only a few mil over the cap right now so after this they can offer some 1 year deals. if they can bring in kawhi or butler next summer they will be a legit top 3 with us and GSW.
oh boy. i mean i get the appeal. in theory his game was exactly what we need right now. a 3&D 3/4. but he's 2-3 years removed from even looking like an nba player. he might be more of the locker room guy at this point. like joe johnson receiving interest from contenders was last year.
Deeks likened Deng to a small ball "4/5" than a 3/4. I honestly don't know where Deng's game is at. Was he horrible and not playable for the Lakers? OR did they just burry him? I don't know.

Then again, why would they? They were going nowhere with no shot at the playoffs, plus they had all these kids and needed to see what they were capable of. The real question is why they signed him in the first place. Last year Deng played in ONE game, for 13 minutes. ALL YEAR. He couldn't have been injured the rest of the time.
Haven’t really paid attention to him lately. I know he’s declined. Is he still worth a pick up for vet min?. He’s got length and I remember him as a good defensive player
