Some people in this thread are coming out as ignorant and idiotic. Great white is a fine nickname. Even Whitey is ok. White power is not. Talking about KKK nicknames or bringing up Trump level fake race statistics or killing of people for acts committed half a millennia ago is just plain stupid.

The nickname was based on a 1.026 ops. That's called having power. Only when the social justice warriors came in and made it about race did the thread take an honest turn. Theres nothing fake about any stats I've posted, maybe reality is something you find easier to conveniently ignore. Go outside, enjoy the game, get off twitter. If you want to make everything about race to feel like a victim, take it to channels that matter.

Once you start screaming about single-parent black households and crime, you can't then go back and pretend innocence with your initial post.

Dog whistles don't work when everyone can hear them.

That was in response to cries of racism in a fun thread ...

All I said was focus on what's really important if you want to be a social advocate ---

Not policing baseball nicknames . As if faking outrage would do more than help the actual issue. The problem is people desperate to show how outraged they are aren't victims of racism, or people who have played baseball, they are middle class white males whose entire social education comes from twitter.

    Fake news from CNN?

"White Power" was a politicized nickname directly in the title of the post. Portraying it as an innocent, non-political pun doesn't work when you follow it with non-sequitur political arguments that only someone who thinks "White Power" is clever would make. That those statements are utterly void of critical thought or nuance is besides the point. I'm not outraged by any article you post; your simplistic teenage trolling isn't worth outrage or debate on its merits.

I'm embarrassed that "White Power" now sits at the top of an Astros fan forum, and disgusted by your attempts to pretend it was innocent all along.

Arguing with stupid (and outright racist) people doesn’t work. He’ll continue to drag us down to his incredibly low level and he has waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more experience at being a complete s***bag.
