He has his moments but he is the one person you do not want up with the game on the line and Hinch has not learned that YET.

Yes perhaps ... although I am leaning towards having John Kruk show them the “middle aged man with one ball trick” coupled with Lenny Dykstra beating them with a fungo bat every time they fail to score 5 runs.

Lots of peaks and valleys along the way. This game has the feel of a valley unfortunately. Other than Verlander nobody on the Astros has played with any urgency today. I thought they would play better coming off the walk off win and the manger getting a 4 year contract extension. Verlander has got to be pissed the way he pitched before the bullpen came in and didn't do their job. Zero percent chance Harris makes the postseason roster. On a more positive note it is nice to see Devenski back from the DL and in the game.

I kept track early in the year, even when we were playing at a good % .... we lead the league in games where we scored 2 or fewer runs; why I was concerned with the offense at that early point. No idea where we rank now.

Good time to use him though with the offense showing no signs of life. If not for the pass ball it was a fairly decent outing for him. I think he will be fine.

No, the offense is actually top 10 and the "drop-off" was inevitable seeing how EVERYONE overpreformed last year.

We are dead last in strikeouts, however instead of this leading to more runs its lead to the most DPs and LOBs in MLB.

Deon't help that we're facing Heaney. Aside from his last start against us in Anaheim, he really has our number. JV and Altuve both did their parts today, but nobody else did ANYTHING. It's a team sport, the rest of the team went silent. Really wouldn't mind trading for a bat, not as a "just for the sake of acquiring someone" move, but maybe that will provide the type of spark JV did last year.Pretty pathetic, seems like most of the time we either blow the other team out, or we get shut out ourselves.

Anderson hadn’t thrown a strike yet in the game but Reddick swings at crap and gets an easy pop up great

Our small-scale offense (contact hitting) last year turned into league-leading GIDP numbers. Hinch said teams are pitching us different this year, inducing more infield grounders. We still haven't adjusted, except for one game last week when we hit a lot of balls into the air.
