Yes, it's reasonable if people think Ted will get re-elected. There are a number of factors on his side. But pretending that Beto O'Rourke is similar to any recent statewide Democratic candidate is silly. Also, mocking small town events like this is absurd. These people aren't just going to vote, they're getting their friends and family registered, they're canvassing their neighborhoods, they're phone banking. This isn't a presidential election where we expect candidates to hold massive rallies. If they did that they'd be in only three or four cities the whole campaign. This is what winning on a grassroots level looks like. Also, look at the people at these events. For years and years Democrats spoke of a "sleeping giant" Hispanic vote, but they just expected it to wake itself up and go to the polls. Beto is the first candidate actually working to win the vote.

I’m seeing more social media posts about Beto than I saw about Hilary. During the presidential election I mainly saw anti-Trump posts rather than Hilary herself. He does seem to have people excited
