Come on, guy! @theimpossibles1 with the receipts! To be fair, I don't think there were many who thought Osuna was going to get out of that inning clean.
Well said. Altuve did have a rough offensive day, but he more or less helped get 2 runs home in the first inning and saved at least a run with the great defensive play against Buiscotty with the bases loaded. One of the biggest plays of the game. The strikeouts look ugly, but in the end an out is an out. Correa continues to struggle but he did have a good AB in the first with the sac fly to Deep left center. Very very nice to get a series win against a team playing great baseball and to win a close game. We get another shot at a signature series win to launch into the postseason in September at Boston. You had to figure this series was going to be 2-1 in our favor or theirs and that neither team was going to sweep the other. One of the biggest factors in us winning the series was holding Khris Davis hitless the entire series. He killed us in Oakland and we completely shut him down at MMP. That and Bregman continuing to play like the AL MVP. Very encouraging to see Osuna come up big today. Really solid series for the pen save for Peacock's terrible outing today.
Lindor hasn't proven he can even get it up for the post season. Carlos is clutch in october. That back was probably 'discomforting' him before he went to the DL.
So I was busy today and stopped watching live after the 5th inning or so. Just caught upSome thoughts: Smith was an excellent FA signing, glad to see him continue to get that ERA down. It's been totally inflated by two terrible outlier outings. Osuna (issues aside), is good, but very shaky at many times. He can get out of trouble and escape (or limit the damage), but he allows too many baserunners. 1.14 WHIP is a little too high. Chapman, Treinen, Kimbrel, and Diaz all have lower WHIPs. Peacock is very concerning. Really stuggles with throwing strikes, and also allows too many hits and runs. Incredible that we only gave up the one run that inning. So happy to see us win. Would have much rather Keuchel have gotten the win than Osuna, not because of Osuna's issues, but because as a baseball fan I just prefer seeing the starter get the win. But a win is a win, especially against Oakland. Glad to see Altuve sill in high spirits after the golden sombrero. Hopefully this isn't a slump and is just an outlier. Happy to see White keep mashing!
Cleveland has the talent, but you have to wonder how the ghosts of their playoff pasts affect them this year. Losing a 3-1 lead in 16 in the WS and then a 2-0 lead to the Yankees last year after the crazy regular season they had. Ouch!
I'd bet on it being either James or Armenteros. I'm excited about both so don't really care who it is.
Had to step away from the game when it was tied 4-4 but glad they pulled of the series win. They needed that. White has been absolutely huge for the team. Props to him.
