Lee / Thomas isn't worth a FRP included with Ryno. We have Ego and Melo taking up all those minutes. It'd be better to just wait til the trade deadline.
I guess it's realistic to expect the Knicks to open up enough room for two max contracts next summer, but i don't think it's going to be that easy...between Porzingis cap holds, Knox, Ntilikina (who would probably be traded as a sweetener), Robinson and other minor contracts they'll be basically at 30, then they would have to get rid of Noah, Hardaway and Lee, that's 50M in bad contracs. Denver had to move a 1st and a 2nd rounder to dump Faried and Arthur (a total of 20M in expiring contracts), Knicks would likely have to stretch Noah and dump Hardaway (with his two year 36M deal) and Lee with their 2020 1st rounder (if not their 2019 lottery pick) and Ntilikina.
3 Way Trade- Kings, Rockets, Hornets: Kings get: Ryan Anderson and 1st round pick from Charlotte, 1st from Houston(2022?) Rockets Get: Nick Batum Charlotte Get: Iman Shumpert and Ben Maclemore Why they Do it: Kings-Get 2 first round picks and a proven scorer Rockets: Wing defender and get off of Ryan's contract Charlotte: Get off of that huge Batum contract and get some expirings for the end of the year. Even if they cannot keep walker, this will keep them (a bit more)flexible Numbers work but not sure what team would balk...
my friends who follow the knicks claim they have insiders posting about the kyrie/klay duo next summer. my money is still on the knicks overpaying local products kemba/tobias.
I wasn’t tying anyone specific. I don’t keep track of who posted what. But unless you’re throwing in one of our rotational players: CP3/Harden/EG/PJ/Capela we have no assets that can land us the players that I mentioned. Our future picks and Zhou Qi and Melton are not tipping the scales for anyone. Not even all of them together.
Of course Ego alone doesn't work. That's why I'm not against an Anderson trade that nets in two contracts, with one of them (say, semi -) expiring, that can be used in any offer like the JB scenario. Certainly a long long shot.
I can remember Mychal Thompson on LA radio (on a trip there 3-4 years ago?)stating that he (MT) wanted and expected KT to sign w/the Lakes or force his way there. Hasn't happened, eh KMc-killer*? MT is (or was, I think still is) a Lakes color commentator on broadcasts. *The Logo 'famously' acquired MT because of his ability to neutralize McHale, necessary only when LAL v Cs in Finals.
did i miss the news somewhere? words on street is that ryno + pick for tyson chandler + daniels from Suns
