I really liked Dennis Miller when he was pretending to be liberal on his HBO program. Who didn't like the intro song? Classic! His Fox persona? I watch Fox just enough to see if they are still peddling lies a significant part of the time, particularly at night (they remain quite busy doing that), and what little I've seen of Dennis in that setting hasn't made me chuckle, much less laugh. Perhaps you could post a funny bit from his ultra-conservative gig. I'm always up for a laugh.

Frankly (I sure would like to meet this Frank fellow sometime), uh, frankly, it's difficult to take "seriously" anything Mr. Miller says these days. I think any credibility he once possessed "politically" has been exploded. In other words, he isn't being a comedian making fun of all sides, something Johnny Carson was superb at doing. He's a comedian with an agenda, and who knows what political agenda he'll adopt next week, next month, or next year?

My serious take on taking D&D too seriously is that I go to Hangout and Unsorted for levity, and I go to D&D when I want to think about the weighty matters of the day. I like joking around, even about politics, but it's not what D&D is for me.

there's a big difference between individual posters in the D&D needing to HAVE a sense of humor, versus the D&D being funny. Those are two very different things.

my opinion for a lot of folks here:

I come to the D&D thinking I can occasionally get a good conversation out of it and sure enough occasionally I do. But mostly what you get is people who are committed to changing your mind and if they can't do that, then you become some version of a sh_tty person to them while those that agree with them pile on.

In other words, coming here expecting to get a chuckle is pretty naive. But good luck op.
