You do know his dad was a one-term judge in the 80's, while the charges happened in the 90's. The prosecutors waved the charges on the trespassing case (he tripped an alarm during a prank at UTEP, UTEP chose not to press charges). And the DWI was waved after Beto went through court-recommended DWI program.
This was already known. It is smart for the Cruz operatives to go into smear mode though, it may be enough to hold off Beto.

I know you can't get deferred adjudication for a DUI in Texas and he did with solid connections to the county. I'm sure nothing under handed happened in El Paso tho.

I think Beto would do just fine in a debate with Cruz. I suspect that Cruz is a highly skilled debater. But when I watched the clip of his calling out Beto on the NFL kneeling controversy, I felt my already mixed view going more and more toward supporting the political gesture the more Cruz talked. I don't think more exposure to his personality will help Cruz.
Cruz knows he can’t lose. There’s no chance Fox News will hire him after trump calls him a loser 1000 times on Twitter.
