Cut preseason down to 2 games. NFL teams don't even care anymore. Before the 3rd preseason game used to be a showcase for the regular season, nowadays they pay lip service by saying the starters will play only to bench them after 2 series.
Damn, I hope so - we gonna need some sort of running game to help DW4 else he is gonna be doing a lot of running.
The team had a rough game yesterday. Really wanted them to have an undefeated preseason but it's okay. Everybody is looking good.
I hope that's all it is. His passing % hasn't been very good in preseason compared to most starting QBs. Even our 3rd string back has a higher passing percentage, which worries me. I'm just going to hope he needs to knock the rust off, and we start to see more completions down the field from him. The last thing I want to see is for New England to make mince meat of us when the season starts.
I'm not stressed over it one bit. I'm just not impressed yet one bit. My point is that he hasn't lived up to all the overreactive hype yet. Just waiting to see him shine, and hope he does.
I guess you failed to watch game 2 when he picked apart the 9ers Cover 3 with his 3rd string receiver via option routes. That was some Brady stuff.
I was kinda disappointed with Bill O'Brien pulling his starts after only 2 series. That last one after K-Jack's pick, I really don't count as a series. Especially with it being at the 5 yard line. We came out flat and couldn't get anything going during those 1st two series. I really don't understand why S. Henderson didn't get the start over Lamm in this game. Man it's all about continuity and building up chemistry with your first unit. Especially when the season is right around the corner. Plus you're playing Tom Brady and the mighty Patriots.
Gawd that was a snoozer of a game. Usually game 3 is at least the starters until half time. BOB must be terrified of injuries and I can’t say I blame him.
And then there was game 3, where he had 15% QB rating. My concern was overall efficiency after all the games, which isn't very good yet. I say yet, because hopefully Thurs night we see more of how he played in game 2. I'm hoping to see some balls downfield. I don't want to see us made mince meat of against New England come game 1. We have one more practice game, so hoping he gets more time, and more passes before then.
Let's hope Thursday night Watson gets to throw more passes, or our first game against Brady might be ugly. I want nothing more than to see Watson be able to hit some deep targets and do more than our conservative short predictable game, which they will be ready for.
How can you think otherwise? I'm talking this year, not last year. His limited time on the field, and QB efficiency is not good. I wasn't talking his potential, simply what we have seen so far is well below most of the QBs. We know the potential is there, but so far he has been below average.
Well, then Bob should have played him more Saturday, to take off more of the rust before we face New England. Practice isn't the same.
