Do they really want Trout hit? Because that’s how you get Trout hit... We can just send Sipp or Harris out there to pop Trout if Scioscia wants to do this.
I think the manager is automatically ejected when a warning has been issued. Astros better wear all the protective gear they have when the Angels come to town next week.
https://billingsgazette.com/sports/...cle_f29b611f-7610-59b1-87b0-63bf94db7a28.html NEW YORK (AP) - Chicago Cubs reliever Kent Mercker and Houston Astros right-hander Dan Wheeler were each suspended for three games Thursday after a testy series last weekend at Wrigley Field. Astros manager Phil Garner was suspended for one game. All three were fined undisclosed amounts by Bob Watson, vice president of on-field operations for Major League Baseball. The Astros were off Thursday and the suspensions were to begin Friday against Pittsburgh. Wheeler, recently acquired from the New York Mets, and Mercker could appeal, delaying the punishment. In his Houston debut, Wheeler hit Chicago first baseman Derrek Lee with a pitch in the ninth inning Sunday after both teams had been warned about beanballs. The benches cleared for the second time in the four-game series, though no punches were thrown. Wheeler and Garner were ejected. Houston sluggers Carlos Beltran and Lance Berkman had been plunked an inning before.
I would have gone with Sipp... he can handle himself if necessary too and I do not care if he gets suspended.
Blummer wanting to take the high road, I think you still have to send the message but I don’t think Hinch will. Edt: It may be best if we hold that iou in our back pocket.
So is Ohtani not going to be a pitcher anymore? You'd figure an ace would be more valuable than a bat..
