As has been explained there are two different sets of statistics. They aren't in conflict.

If they were on a Visa, what was the length and purpose of the stay?

Was your mother pregnant while traveling?

How long did it take for them to receive citizenship, or did they never receive it?

You can include those here legally in it, but they have to pass a criteria that ensures they arent playing the system like this murderer and his conniving baby momma.

It's not hard to figure out who's gaming the system and who's not, and also set up a system where those on visas have to report to a commission as soon as their stay is up.

My take is shut down illegal immigrants entirely, when successful increase quota of legals who can work for corporations at low wages but have rights and access to citizenship. Focus on our own backyard first before regulating Mexico. If corporations take their work to cheaper labor in Mexico, at $5 hr instead of 10, that's fine, but they'll have to pay higher taxes/tariffs to import these goods to the US.
