6 man rotation = CP/Harden/EGO/MCW/Tuck/Capela Only Melo Stans and Enn15 Clubbers think they will be in the 6 man rotation.
Michael Carter-Williams will play because: 1. He is a point guard. Mike Dan Tony loves point guards. 2. He is versatile. You never know which version of him will show up: Some nights you get Michael Carter, some nights you get Michael Williams, and, when you really need him, you might even get Cater Williams.
a "pg" that can't shoot is not getting significant rotational minutes on this team. that goes in the opposite direction of what a mda offense requires, that is catered for pg's
A point guard does not need to shoot. He needs to point. We also need him to counter the light-skinned Warriors backcourt. MCW can match Steph and Klay's deceptive athleticism and know their tendencies.
a pg in this offense certainly needs to be able to shoot. giving GS one less person to actually guard is a great idea for the already top defensive team in the league. championship formula confirmed
MCW is going to get a major shot here, and will certainly make the team. There is a reason we pushed hard for him immediately when Free Agency opened.
I’ll never get over how many people actively root against Rockets succeeding. We are going to need quality defenders to pair with Harden in the backcourt. If he can shoot above 33% 3s he’s perfect. Plus he’s someone you can run and gun with, a few fastbreak points wouldn’t hurt this squad.
This. For the money we are paying him, if he can contribute for a team with championship aspirations then all the better. I really don't expect much shooting from him or scoring in general from him. Hopefully he can run some PNR to take some pressure off of Harden and CP3 and be able to stay on the court with our switching system defensively.
Admittedly, I don't know too much about MCW. But, I like what I've seen and read from you. All I've heard is that Tuck is his "person." The implication was we're getting a younger, gritty, PatBev-lite. I don't care if his shot isn't great. If he can lock guys down on defense (see: Curry) and then let JH/CP/EG break guys down on offense to exhaustion (see: Curry/Klay/Wesley), he's done his job. We will need another guard. If all else fails, call Trap Bobby Brown for a couple runs. He's family...and I finally figured out why the man is a signing legend. Need to confirm, but it's good stuff.
I don't think there was much pushing to be done, he didn't have many suitors, or maybe not even any suitors, because if so he wouldn't have accepted such an early minimum deal
