They call that look "orange and blue steel."
    (Yes I stole that)

Check out the neck snap from McCullers. No wonder he has such sick spin rate.

Great the offense got going and to win this series.

Astros are trending water until they go '17 on MF's again. Except this time, with better pitching.

Yeah I'm just saying let's not all act like Morton hasn't been giving up some runs lately. I like his stuff a lot too.

I'm not a big fan of ERA in small samples, but Morton's ERA in his last 6 starts was 2.31 before the 6th yesterday. So by lately, I'm assuming you mean the last inning he pitched or some time a month or two ago.

Wait, our pitchers have the audacity to give up runs? Unacceptable!

"I'm not a big fan of ERA in small samples", except when it fits my agenda ;)

Morton's recent numbers probably seem worse than they are because his 2 runs last game were unearned and he had a 4.50 ERA the previous game... BOTH being losses.

He'll be fine. Give him some extra rest. Verlander could use the same.

well, losing a 9-1 lead and it being 9-7 is pretty scary lol.

We gave 6 runs in a short amount of time? Blow it all up. This team, as assembled, will never find success.

It's indicative of how they've struggled the last few weeks, that's all I'm saying.

All good buddy. I get the frustration over the last several weeks. Not picking on you particularly, when I get more frustrated than I should, I try and remind myself how hard the sport of baseball really is, and that both ups and [mainly] downs are to be expected over the course of a season.

Astros pitchers the last 30 days have a 3.68 ERA (FIP, xFIP are fine over than stretch). Only the Astros and Red Sox are better in ERA for the year in the AL. I don't see how an incredibly small sample of pitching surrounded by great, but not the best ever pitching is indicative of hitters being hurt and/or under-performing.

Definitely man. I live and breathe with this team . What I meant to say in the heat of the moment too is, it seems like it was about par for the course for the Astros to blow a 9-1 lead with how they'd been playing the past few weeks. I'm very glad they DIDN'T blow it. They tried :)

Not sure if you really grasp the “par for the course” concept.

But it is par for the course that you will likely overreact and expect the worst from this team when they lose some games.

In the end, as crappy as they’ve played this month... they’re 9-9 and trending up in terms of getting guys healthy. Much better than the 11-17 from last year.

Par for the course to blow a 9-1 lead?

Its definitely not "par for the course" for one of the best bullpens in the sport to blow 9-1 leads.

Biggest lead they've blown is 5 runs, twice.

And Morton can only pitch 5 innings.
