He is only 26 so could be the case. His “injury” was minor though. Something the panthers thought would take forever to heal but in actuality only took a few weeks to heal.
Yeah, but we still dont know how Gaines wants to structure his cap management for future signings and retention. Breeland has been to NE, Miami, Cleveland, Oak, KC, Indy and Baltimore and left all of them without a contract. I wonder if that injury is more serious than we think?
Hopefully everyone stays healthy, but I don't like going into week 1 against the Patriots with half the starters getting their very first minutes. Maybe I just have an outdated way of thinking about it, but if you don't hit in the pre-season, you can't be fully ready for the regular season. If the guys who haven't played at all play less than a quarter I'll be concerned. If the starters who have been playing already don't play at least a half, I'll be concerned.
Some of those teams have solid CBs on the team already. The teams I would take seriously are KC and Indy. Maybe Baltimore but they brought him in before Jimmy Smith's suspension.
I think if they could get one or two good series in they should be alright. Just to get their legs back under them.
In the 3rd game, known as the dress rehearsal, the first half and the first series after halftime has been the mantra for Starting the Starters since the Start of this century. Again, the Houston media acting like this is all new. I know..get off my overly dried lawn.
The only reason there's questions about it is because in the past BOB has kept players out of preseason considerably more than what is common.
I just want this team to start the season off on a good note, and play well in that first game. After last year's debacle, the 30-0 reaming by KC, and many, many other season-opening embarrassments, I just want to have nice things said about us after Week 1. I know it's meaningless in the long run, but as a fan, that would make me happy.
I hope Coutee plays and I hope our starters play at least the first quarter and a half. I think the tune up game is important and has factored into our first week defeats lately. We better be ready for the Patriots.
