I've been suspecting all along that the long deliberation involves not only the complexity of the case and evidence pile BUT just having so many damned counts to work through.

I've been in juries with (just) five counts to figure out, and it's murder (um, so to speak) to sit around with random fellow citizens and figure this stuff out with everything written in lawyer-ese.

 

Man this whole story is going to be an amazing 8 part HBO special one day. How sweet would it be to actually have Baldwin play Trump.

There is just so many interesting side plots and characters.

Nothing to see here. How many plea deals is this? These plea deals are all to get who in trouble exactly? There are only so many options.

A Manafort verdict and a Cohen plea on the same day is going to trigger some major unhingement from the dotard in chief.

Next couple of days going to be interesting.

The Cohen guilty plea is not necessarily good for those that hope Trump will be implicated. He has not agreed to cooperate with the investigation at this point, and I am not sure he will be interested in doing so unless it is somehow built into the deal he gets and I see no implication of that at this point.

This is just a man trying to salvage some of what he has asset wise and to avoid an overly long time away from his family.

 

Plus I'm sure he knows he's got a pardon coming after the next presidential election no matter which way it goes. Why waste money when you can just spend a little over a year in jail and be done with it.

 

Manafort guilty on 8 counts.

 

LOL. Cohen has basically implicated Trump in federal crimes in allocution in court. If Mueller just prepares a report to Congress so they can decide on impeachment (instead of indicting), the State of New York will DEFINITELY indict Trump. So he will face STATE and Federal problems.

 

Good day for justice. Bad day for Trump and his cultist apologists.

 

Keep hope alive killer. It's adorable watching you guys hold your breath waiting for Santa Claus to show up. Obviously you'll eventually be disappointed, but right now it's just precious.

 

First I heard of this, I walked in on a gas station with Fox News claiming how this was really a big win for and vindicated Trump. Something about mistrial on the conspiracy charges. Big emphasis on 10 mistrial counts Oh... by the way, convicted on 8 counts..

I kind of chuckled and walked out. I'm sure the usual suspects will be repeating this spin here in short order.

 

But, Ottomaton, it's just a big scoreboard. If you walk out of a court only guilty on less than half of your charges, you are basically innocent -- to a zeroth order approximation anyway.

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Trumps and their cohorts are everything Republicans have always accused the Clintons of being. This is projection manifest.
