First series he got burned, then gave himself a concussion by falling on the floor, face first, by himself.

It's these kinds of trivial metrics that make finding quarterbacks difficult. Any stat that diminishes a talent like Tom Brady shouldn't be weighed heavily. Hell Jeff George could throw the ball out of the stadium but he wasn't a great NFL QB. I would weigh the game film and how the guy performs at the chalkboard more than anything.

Bobby likes to pretend that he was just providing fair criticism of Watson last year when in reality he was one of Watson's biggest skeptics and detractors from the get go. He kept insulting Watson and calling him a running back while also comparing him to mediocre QBs like Alex Smith. Funny how Bobby is not calling Watson a RB or Alex Smith anymore. Pretty sure he was against the Texans trading up to draft him as well. If Bobby had his way Tom Savage would still be our QB and some other team would have Watson. All this and he STILL won't admit that he was wrong about Watson lol.

Then you draft guys like Christian Ponder and Matt Leinart: great game tape, accurate. weak arm; drafted #12 and #10 overall. There is no exact science to drafting a qb in the nfl, you have to gather as much information as possible and velocity is one of them. Inches are everything in the NFL passing game.

Its pretty known that he took MPH off in order to complete throws.

    Either way.

What I have seen in person shows he has a cannon and almost flawless mechanics.

Christian Ponder couldn't anticipate and deliver the ball on target and on time in the NFL. Maybe he wasn't a student of the game at the chalkboard. Maybe the speed of the NFL game was just too fast. And what role does coaching/ player development play? Who knows the complete story but I'm sure it was more than one measurement. And I wouldn't freak out if a guy doesn't win the " Underwear Olympics" that is the NFL Combine.

Well, its easy to talk in hindsight like youre doing but you just said look at their game tape. So his game tape was good in college but now he cant handle the nfl, should we throw out the game tape metric out too now?

I would definitely weigh some metrics more than others but we can agree to disagree on what those should be. But the NFL has been mediocre at player development when it comes QB position for ages. I think study off the field and anticipation on it can be more valuable than just having a cannon for an arm. Just my opinion.

You can try and re-write history kiddo, but you aren't going to get away with it. There was serious concerns with how he threw the ball and I said that if he couldn't fix it then he'd be essentially just another Alex Smith.

Again though, you are another person I don't really expect much from, so by all means keep up the ridiculous nonsense, it's basically what can be expected from people like you.

What is unfortunate is that this round of stupidity was started by someone who knows better and it got mental midgets like you and Scarface going. Perhaps that was his goal all along.

OR you were wrong. Maybe he wasn't worried about throwing hard, but completing passes. People like you are so worried about Measurables without knowing the full situation or just watching tape. Footwork probably didn't have anything to do with it. He was just making sure he completed passes at the combine. Ofcouse his footwork will improve in the NFL. You just won't admit you based your evaluation on ONE throwing session at the combine....lol.

He has that NOW, he didn't have that a year ago because the mechanics were still off. You take away from what he's accomplished by trying to pretend like he always had the mechanics down to where he could consistently throw accurate passes with velocity.

For me to be wrong in this instance, the facts would have to be different. It wasn't just a combine issue, the inconsistent accuracy and velocity also showed up in game tape. The kid had poor throwing mechanics that negatively affected accuracy and velocity, why can't you just credit him for the hard work he put in to fix those things rather than doing all of these mental gymnastics trying to pretend that those flaws never existed?

I mean, at some point won't you get tired of making yourself look like a fool?

Watson's quick release seems to be a much bigger factor than velocity.

Remember Osweiler had that slow ass release

There's a reason for that if you put the posts together and look at the QBs he typically bashes the most.

LOL....Let me just post the 2 games against Alabama. You are making **** up. His accuracy was considered a strength coming out of college.

    Keep twisting yourself into knots....

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

If we ignore The Troll, is it like he is not even here?

That's simply not true, the accuracy and velocity of his passes of any distance whatsoever was questionable in college....not on a college level, but for an NFL level. Again, I didn't make up those concerns, I just shared them. The fact that he overcame his issues and is tearing it up right now doesn't mean those concerns weren't real.....it just means he overcame them.

I'm not twisting anything, I'm just talking to a troll who knows better and a simple minded idiot who doesn't. Htownballer did this just to get morons like you going despite the fact that he knows better just to troll the board and it worked.

Again, when it comes to....well anything, I'm not expecting much from you, I understand your handicaps and I don't blame you for them. Just keep the cork on the end of the fork so you don't hurt yourself or others.
