If it was something like A's 150 Astros 200 ok I hear you.

But no, we have 3 times the run differential as the A's.

I guess we will see I have not felt that same magic this year as we did last year. I can’t think of one player that is having the same kind of year or a better year than they did last year.

How’s that working out for us the last 2 series against them?

I like Maldonado as a defensive substitute, but he's terrible on offense. Osuna, from a baseball talent pov, was a good move. The rumors were the team was looking for an OF bat, but they didn't pull the trigger. Two years in a row the team's August struggles may force them to make a move they should have made at the deadline. Of course, it is more difficult now b/c we really don't know who is available and pickings are likely smaller than before.

We gave up a lot of prospects to get osuna Pressly and Maldonado, each of whom did nothing to address our offensive woes.

Injuries are not a valid excuse. No Team has had better starting pitcher health than the Astros. We have yet to start a pitcher who wasn’t part of the original starting five. That’s extremely rare and very fortunate.

Missing games from .250 correa and .250 springer aren’t what doomed us.

We just didn’t come in with hunger and fought complacency all season long as a lineup. Pissed away one of the best seasons in Team And maybe even MLB history from the starting staff. Staring staff composed of veterans so they approached the season a lot more professionally than the young kids in the lineup who all underachieved save for Alex Bregman... who was brilliant in 2018.

A's are talking about this coulda been a no hitter, and that's how far we've fallen. There's still 2 inning left.

October is going to be free of baseball excitement in Houston.

Oh I forgot the season is 6 games long and the past and future don't exist. My bad!

/sarcasm. A's are playing like it's their playoffs. Injury stricken Astros are playing like it's the dog days of summer, because that's what it is. Let's see how things pan out down the stretch.

I understand your disappointment, but let’s not act like the season is over. You can’t just act like the season ends tomorrow.

We hit a Llull last year, but we eventually couldn't ignore and addressed it with Verlander.

Really need JV to be JV tomorrow and keep the damn ball in the yard. If we give up the division lead it will be hard to get it back

The Astros offense has no plan at the plate right now. Trevor Cahill primarily throws a 92 mph sinker and an 80 mph curve, with most of his pitches starting as strikes but dropping out of the zone. None of the Astros are showing the plate discipline to lay off anything that starts around their chest and getting into hitters counts. Conversely, the A’s are pouncing on pitches in the zone.

Well, at least we can stop hearing about how much they love hitting at Oakland and how its all the batters eye's fault!

Luhnow messed up by letting J.D. Martinez go and then screwed up again by not signing him. Going to cost the Astros a dynasty.

Them getting Altuve back (along with McCann, Devo, LMJ, and getting Springer/Correa rolling again) is even more impactful than what Verlander added.

This team has pretty much mailed it in.

I wouldn’t risk more damage to Altuves knee at this point by bringing him back. That knee is going to take a pounding running bases, planting, etc.

Let him rehab more conservatively and increase odds of a 100 percent Altuve next season.

Also - trading ant more prospects before aug 31 would be wasteful since this team lacks life and stinks too much offensively for one guy to make a big difference. Keep the farm system as strong as you can.
