Wow...A's are really capitalizing on this opportunity while the Astros continue to collapse. Astros have opened the door wide open for the A's to take over this division down the stretch. Just wow. This is a collapse folks. Can't use injuries as an excuse. The offense has been too inconsistent all year. A's coming into their own is going to be hard to stop by this inconsistent current Astros team.
The athletics are a lot better than the Astros. Much more consistent hitting; great bullpen and lots of hunger. Astros Yankees is going to be a really tough wildcard game if we can hold off Seattle which won’t be easy as we are a putrid 3-10 against the mariners and athletics in our last 13 games against them.
You know, last year there was a magic in the air even when we were struggling. We all just knew we were at least going to the WS by this time last year, even with the struggles. I hope they can turn it around because I know this team has the talent. This year, it's just not there. No magic, just kind of going with the flow and watching the team simply fold under the pressure and I think a lot of us are afraid to admit that we have our doubts. Injuries aside, this team hasn't shown consistently that its got the same potential as last year. Very 2017 Cub's like Sad.
Relax bro. They went 11-17 last August. They are following the same pattern they did last year. Our leader Altuve is out. We are just now getting Springer and Correa back. We have better starting pitching, a better bullpen, and the same offense as last year. Let's see how things look in a month or two.
I'm getting more and more negative. I think he's right. Last year, we had a hole at pitching, but the hitting really only let up for that stretch in August. Our stars are letting us down this year. Could we get hot? Sure, but I'm not expecting it.
There was a lot of magic on the pitching side, especially earlier in the year. The offense has had moments, but nothing nearly as consistent as last year. IMO, any of the top 3 AL West teams could win the division. Its going to depend who finishes best.
But what about the hunger, the magic and the mojo? Oh, and don't forget Hinch's inspirational qualities.
This series means nothing. The A's are a much better team and are going to win the division. It's the next series in Seattle that's going to determine if we make it to the post season. Accept this and you'll feel much better.
Last night was a painful loss and it is bringing out a lot of emotion in yall. It's a loooong season and it always includes highs and lows. Personally, I think this is a great time to go through some struggles. Plenty of time left to get things right. Last nights game is the kind we can look back on and use for fuel to the fire all season long. I'm EXTREMELY optimistic about this season.
