This part I don't get. Why can't people choose for themselves what offends them?

Maybe to you, cutting off the head of an innocent man might be offensive but to ISIS its directed by Allah. Should you change being offended because they aren't?

There are plenty of folks who have buried a loved one and received a folded american flag at the ceremony.

To them, the symbolic kneeling at the flag is intensely personal.

Maybe its not to you. Fine. It doesn't make others wrong.

My thoughts on the matter was if you were going to pick a way to bring attention to a serious, current topic....why choose to do so in a way that automatically alienates so much of your audience? The cause has gotten lost in the hoopla over the kneeling.

People can chose what to be offended over a knee bend and I can call them out over their "offense" being disingenuous.

Yes, when the same people coincidentally also disagree with the entire premise of the protest, when the same people couldn't give two ***** about the pre-game ritual before the kneeling began and when I have former peers who literally ran indoors when Colors begin to play on a Marine Corps base just so they can avoid standing and holding a salute for one minute while magically being offended over a knee bending while also coincidentally joining law enforcement once their enlistment was over(gee I wonder if their is a bias there?), I can call their irkness levels disingenuous.

Just say be upfront and say you disagree with criticism of law enforcement.

Anyone who transplants their own self interests of being a service member or knowing a service-member into a protest that has nothing to do with service members are egocentric.

Colin Kapernick too into account the sensibilities of the easily offended also by taking advice from a Navy Seal to kneel.

I can point out why ISIS is wrong with their lack of offense at that. Isis is wrong for that whether they acknowledge that or not. I won't say those that are offended at the kneeling are wrong in all cases but there are those where they are wrong. That being said, there may some cases where people are free to take offense that kneeling. I will add that doesn't matter. If kneeling offends some people then that isn't the worse thing to happen. Other people are offended at the discrimination and double standard that exists in our justice system. To me, that is a more justifiable offense.

Cops being murdered due in part to the President not having the balls to calm a mob when the were falsely and murdeously enraged over justified killings in the line of duty is far more worrisome.

If Obama had done his job maybe an idiot like Kaepernick would have reconsidered his foolish protest. Obama would have lost most of the black community had he just been honest with them.

    This should be interesting.

So which officers were killed because of Obama?

Let's say in a hypothetical world, where in this said hypothetical world, you believe there is legitimate criticism of law enforcement that must be expressed. How can the chief executive express this concern without harming your sensibilities?

Or do you believe law enforcement is inherently infallible or that the head of the executive branch who has the purview of the Justice Department underneath him should never speak on such matters?

And gee... someone offended over the "kneeling" also disagreeing with the entire premise of the protest.

Three black tesns killed a 15 year old Hispanic kid for his wallet in Houston. No one is gonna protest this murder

Blacks commit more total murder than any group every year ten times the total number of police shootings every year

An nfl owner hasn't murdered anyone. Several nfl players have

I never claimed I did not vote for him. I most certainly did and would do it again.

I didn’t but most certainly will, the other option is really not an option at all.

Yes, a dude who nutted out of a 250 million dollar penis, has no indivudual merit, was handed his legacy admission undergrad degree, created a pseudonym to lie to Forbes about his net worth, took out investment loans far above his means resulting in bankrupting in multiple venture including a casino, resorting to foreign banks for investment loans that have already confirmed ties to Russian money laundering schemes, generating his core right wing base not with nuanced policy details but rather claiming the former President is Kenyian born, rage tweets on a daily basis is really no sane option.

I think you are more presidental than the current President.

About 200 million Americans are ahead of Trump on my list. It might take a while to list them.

So you’re saying 200 million Americans can also dwarf Obamas presidential legacy?

More and more people on the right who didn't vote for him are coming to that realization. That is why I feel fairly confident for 2020. The fact that he has done a much better job than anyone could have expected doesn't hurt either.

in the real world trump talked about wanting to date and have sex with his daughter and so-called conservatives loved it.

trump derangement syndrome is way worse on the right. he flipped the entire republican party/conservative-christian movement, with their false sense of morals and family values all up on its head. they compromised their beliefs and morals for this narcissistic, childish buffoon.

he got so-called conservatives and republicans to support tariffs and protectionist trade policies.

he got so-called christians to support someone who bragged about cheating on all his wives and sexually assaulting women.

he got so-called pro-military conservatives to support someone who said POWs are not heroic and attacked a gold star family.

for all your claims about trump derangement syndrome from the left, in actuality it has shown itself much more prominently on the right.

not really - NFL viewership is down 5%. But NASCAR is down 17% over the same time period and is down 30% over a two year period, despite none of those drivers protesting.

the CEO of NASCAR endorsed trump in 2016 and their ratings are down 30% since then. if we want to draw correlations b/t the protests and ratings then you have to draw one here too - people are not watching NASCAR b/c their CEO endorsed trump...right???

So what you are effectively saying here is "Whatabout X?" over and over again.

    Solid.
