The offense really is so bad right now. We need Altuve and Springer back in the worst way. And some of the other guys need to get their crap together.
Anybody else getting tired of Carlos Correa? Even before the injury he was having a mediocre year at best...dude just strikes out constantly.
Correa put more pressure on himself than was already on him by saying his goal was to win MVP. Just go out and let your playing do the talking. His worst year by far even before the injuries.
Its ok, just so happens that everybodys pitcher for the last month has thrown a gem against us, nothing we can do about that
There is no mental toughness on this team right now. Absolutely none. I understand that injuries have derailed them, but that’s no excuse to be such a mentally weak team.
When Bregman started taking a lot more pitches earlier in the season, I had this thought: I hope he doesn't take it too far. And it looks like that's come to pass; he's passed the optimal point and overshot to now being a little too reluctant to swing at the plate. I feel confident he'll correct it. --- Correa is an issue. The ATT crew is being told to work the importance of Correa to the team extra hard. I doubt Todd and Geoff actually believe it. They slipped a little bit when they showed that the team stats this year with and without Correa, and they were virtually identical. These "in the past 162 games, he's hitting over .300" things also drive me bonkers. Correa's average is down 55 pts from last year. All his other stats are way down. His stats look very similar to 2016 Correa, but slightly worse. His defense is excellent, though, and I'm really glad to see him back locking down shortstop, so we're not playing like 1.5 to 2 infielders out there anymore. The Astros' offense is in a lot of trouble.
I think they really miss guys like Cora and Beltran. They may have been the leadership this team lacks right now. They look like a ship without a sail right now with no direction.
