i've been excited about this kid for a long time. i love that he looks comfortable with the 3 now. no hesitation, soft touch. he's already got elite level shot blocking, and is a decent passer for a big. with his quickness he can play the 4 next to capela and with added strength he can play the 5 when capela rests. all he needs is to become a better on ball defender and rotations on D. if he gets that, he's a matchup nightmare for the league.
Idk... i jus dont see this dude developing into a serviceable NBA player... maybe I'm wrong... but I think the move is to trade him now while he still has some perceived value.... nothing to do with race... Badiane and David Andersen never made it to that level either...
i know. most likely he works on rebounding and finishing at the rim/through contact. that would at least get him some PT and its a realistic goal for next year. he looks like he's working towards that with some added strength.
He is not quick enough laterally to play a forward spot, but I would LOVE to see him soak up the backup C minutes this year. It's time for either he or Hartenstein to step up into Tarik Black's role. if they aren't capable, we need to get rid of them. Can't have a glut of worthless Centers...
