Great job there by Pressly. Small sample size but not impressed by Pressly at all so far.

I really want to love him but he's only been mediocre thus far. Not really that great.

We stink lately. And especially against teams chasing us in the division.

We should try to add Beltre. Is that even possible at this point? Would love to add him. Especially with our injuries, would be a great add.

agreed, i wasn't impressed by him with the twins earlier in the year either despite his great advanced numbers.

It's been almost a month since the Astros have won a home game, July 14th; 6th conservative home loss.

    Damn.

We have a brutal month ahead of us and worst case scenario we could be outside looking in on the playoffs.

Lol...but yeah gotta fight for your hitters and pitchers when the umps are screwing them over. The team has been so dead at home just seeing Hinch lay into a bad ump would possibly light a fire under the team, but like I said that's just not in Hinch's nature.

New plan: we carefully aim for the Wild Card, so we have zero home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Then, we pull out that gaudy MLB-best road-winning percentage, and run all the way through to a successful World Series defense.

The offense since the season began has sputtered and has not approached last year's level. All numbers are down. Beltrán really helped them that much?

Or maybe it was Cora. Boston's offense is the league's best like ours was last year. Can the addition of a veteran bat help them?

Replace Dave Hudgens, preferably with Carlos Beltran. Hudgens is a bad coach, there's a reason the Mets fired him. Also, he only has one MLB hit LOL, and most of his MLB PA's were as a pinch hitter.

I like Gordon. He's a consummate professional night in and night out, willing to do whatever it takes to compete. I hope he retires a rocket, I mean mariner. Really cool of him.

7 Major League at-bats in 6 total games played. 1 hit. WAR: -0.1 I couldn't believe it until I saw it multiple places with my own eyes.

I agree. Get rid of this guy. Seen so many Astros batting slumps over the years, both individual and team wide, and I've always wondered "Is the batting coach doing ANYTHING to try to fix this? Why do they keep making the same mistakes?"

Hudgens does not belong on an MLB coaching staff, let alone the staff of the defending World Champions. And last year, it was Beltran, not Hudgens, who the players would frequently talk to during the game about their hitting and stuff. I understand that Beltran may not want the job (I think he has other goals in mind), but anyone who had an at least decent MLB career should be an improvement.

I agree, but he did give up the lead immediately after he took the mound in the 6th. If it were not for Jake's amazing diving catch, the Astros would have been behind then.
