The written story was a good example of awful journalism. You have to watch the officer giving an account of what allegedly happened in order to understand it. Had my significant other been at home and a man did what this guy was supposed to have done, I would give her a hug and congratulate her for taking the appropriate action, especially if one of my kids happened to be at home and wasn't the adult he or she is now. Had I been the person in this lady's position, however, I wouldn't have gone for a firearm. I have a baseball bat and a very large dog to take care of those situations.
