My father died from complications from asbestosis... he worked as a plumber and HVAC serviceman was in constant contact with the stuff. Many people got asbestosis from building materials in the 50s and 60s.

My dad was a republican and if he lived today would have most likely been a trump supporter.

Don't care what you think about my father or me. You just keep being you...

Actually, you responded to my post in post #29 . And I was only explaining why I do care if asbestos controls are no longer followed by the EPA. I am sure other building trades workers suffered from asbestosis as well.

mesothelioma is still so common today that many oncologists do subspecialty focus on this area.
The no.is expected to increase as those who were kids to parents who had exposure to Asbestos had traces in hair and clothes start gradual onset

India most likely to have the highest no. of un-invistigated mesothelioma cases in the world, they were importing all what Quebec's mines could extracts I think as late as 2010s

Sorry about your Dad. I agree that with all of the individuals who have suffered from meso or lung cancer, and all of the corporations that have been bankrupted by its use, it seems odd that we would bring it back. I get that dangerous substances, when handled appropriately, are used all the time. (valid argument) However, aren't there good substitutes to asbestos that don't have the same dangerous qualities? (I really don't know.) If I am up on the current view re: meso, it may take only one exposure to asbestos to cause it.

Non-issue. No company will ever use Asbestos in a way that would ever expose someone to the fibers. The lawsuits for that alone would bankrupt the company.

Asbestos by the way was never banned, companies are free to use it today and always have been. I think exploring new uses for asbestos is not the same trying to bring it back but rather a legitimate exploration of material science. Research does not equate to putting something in your house. Even today Asbestos is used by industry for specific purposes. Mainly to make chorine for your swimming pools yo
