The added bonus for this trade is that the Rockets would still have the MLE to potentially sign any buyout guys later in the season.
Hmm, I was under the impression that he could guard three through 5? At this point in the NBA, there isnt really a difference between three and 4. Unless you wanna tell that faster wings blow by him(if you watch the Heat a lot, then i will change my stance), I see no problem in playing him and Tucker together.
how is that RIP? this is classic media stuff, two sides to every negotiation. i put out exactly what i was told exactly when i was told it. Amick's is from the other side.
I know that the Rockets had interest in Bazemore early this summer. Has that suddenly changed? I doubt it but I don’t know. Last year Atlanta claimed they loved Bazemore and wanted positive value to move him. From the Hawks perspective, what does Anderson bring to the table? Not much.
the Rockets lowkey don't want/like reports like that coming out, they like to keep stuff tight. so when stuff does come out, usually it'll be met with pushback, disputed etc. Personally, you hear a lot. I can always keep this to myself, since I'm not a reporter, and I'm not trying to be Woj/Shams—but I figure Rockets fans want to hear whats going on from time to time. If anyone honestly thinks the Rockets aren't still interested in acquiring someone they wanted to give $80+ to in 2016, then idk
This trade in no way works. We are taking back too salary. (Throw it in the trade machine if you have doubts but the rule is 125% plus 100k)
Cosign this hard. This is exactly what I was going to say. You have to take everything with a grain salt. Whether it's from Kelly, Shams or even Clutch. Everyone is trying to get their version of the truth out there. Kelly makes a devastating point though: "If anyone honestly thinks the Rockets aren't still interested in acquiring someone they wanted to give $80+ to in 2016, then idk"
Out of all the rumored trades involving ryno , my favorite is still the CHA : MKG / Williams combo . Now , we'd have to add a young guy for salary matching purposes . I'd hope they would take Qi , he's my least favorite out of Melton and Hartenstein. I would also throw in a first and even a future 2nd if they wanted it . With that trade we'd get the best possible shooter and the best athlete . Tho , I don't see much incentive on Cha's side . They do cut a bit of salary , but they don't get any less years of salary commitment... so the complementary pieces we would be sending ( like qi and picks ) would have to be enticing. I don't think we could convince CHA to do the trade .... but you never know , Michael Jordan . Just sayin , that would be my preferred trade . The heat trade is preferable to bazemore straight up , bazemore may be a better player than Johnson and waiters ( who we would likely have to take back ) ... but I'd rather have the 2 players vs one . Plus while waiters contract is almost as bad as Nick Batums ( jk) , he's a wildcard that I could see playing well . Bazemore is a nice option ... IF we don't have to give up too much . Melton and a first is fairly pricy and if the hawks aren't budging , I'd rather play the long game and see if the price changes or other options become available . I'm praying MJ likes Qi enough to do the MKG and Williams deal .
No biggie. I just felt a wee bit misrepresented, when you said "part of the reason hp had extended convo about Onuaku" move was about the underlying implication that it meant "money isn't an issue" isn't our M.O. this summer. My *only* issue with Onuaku was I think Morey broke his basic rule of maintaining flexibility...but I understood the Ariza, Luc moves....he got outbid. Difference issues. Otherwise, I'm usually a big advocate for whatever Morey does wrt salary mgmt...especially previous years when he told us he doesn't like going over the taxline, because it gives up flexibility....need good reason to go over. Likewise, I also think he has a flexibility rule (at least previously), don't use cash unless you are buying something. anyhoot,,,no biggie, I'm just beginning to regret my Onuaku chatter, which was mainly to pick apart its pros/cons (as a Nerdy CBA guy likes to do on a low news day) and less to imply underlying currents steering it. I feel pigeon-holed, now,....being a target of bbs "Mentions" as anecdotes does that.
that's why they want melton and a first. i don't think we can afford both johnson and bazemore, even if we try routing waiters to ATL. i think its one or the other. and i'm not sure why people are complaining that waiters doesn't fit and has a terrible contract... first, morey doesn't want him he's just the throw in to make the salaries match. his fit doesn't matter, he probably won't play. second, his contract is $11M of dead space while ryno's is $20M of dead space. i don't see why people are getting caught up on the waiters part of the deal. we have to take back a lot of money to move ryno.
The momentum seems, to me, that something is happening on the J.J./Waiters front and that’s why they’re walking back the Bazemore talk.
So how does Bazemore fit he is more of a 2 that can play 3 and in no way can he be a death lineup 4 so that limits options. You can't play CP3-Harden-E.G.-Bazemore together. So the "death" lineup would be 3 of those 4 with Tucker and Melo?
I meant, more about the trying to pay him 80 million. Getting rid of Anderson has always been a thing.
We know who you are, Morey's Burner Account. Don't think that we have not noticed that "Kelly Iko" is simply an anagram for "Likely OK."
