Actually it seems you vote for: 1) Whatever costs you less money personally 2) "Liberty" (this typically means conservative intrusion instead of liberal intrusion; unless you're a libertarian or something) The outcomes of these things are not what you're voting for at all, it seems.
those are the policies I would like to see, less wealth confiscation (for myself and everyone else) and fewer restrictions on personal liberty given the options available, Cruz is the obvious pick to affect those outcomes
Most people look at the situation and make individualistic determinations about what types of policies (or lack thereof) are the best prescription for the problems at hand. Sometimes i'm more interventionist, sometimes I'm not, on some issues I feel the government can affect change better than the market, on some issues I don't. I would personally be ashamed to admit I view the world as a hammer and all I see are nails. This is not "voting for policy outcomes", this is voting for dogma/ideology.

Interesting that for someone that has no chance, Beto O'Rourke sure has raised the hackles of the trump/cruz supporters here. But perhaps more important, he has raised concerns with cruz and his campaign/ btw, I think it is good for both parties, and the state of Texas, that there be competitive races and up and down the ballot. Right. On the 2nd point, Cruz is very anti-liberty. His stances on LGBT issues show that, even after Obergfell he was one of the main guys saying it was wrong...and he's not just saying "States should decide," he is saying that but he's also saying "Marriage is between a man and a woman." this is very anti-liberty. It's this whole "Live by my book" crap popping its head up again. I wish I could say that this is something he's changed his mind on but I've seen no evidence of it. IIRC the last thing he's done on this issue is challenge a court on Texas' right to defend state marriage bans. As in, he wants to ban gay marriage in Texas. To tell two people they can't get married because of your religious beliefs is very anti-liberty, I'll never believe someone is for liberty when they want laws to remain because of rules 'ordained by God' to have any political power.
That's the beauty part about democracy. You can decide to vote for whomever you choose for whatever reason you choose.

Since you’re probably not schooled in the US Constitution...the 1st amendment protects people from government intrusion on free speech. It doesn’t cover private businesses making business decisions. They’re allowed to have standards and practices. If you violate them, they’re allowed to boot you from their platform.
I’ll say this for Ted.... his sexual appetite is incredible. He could give Clinton, Kennedy or Long a run for their money. I’m surprised he has kept it quiet.
