No doubt the Astros Fanbase would've been angry, Including me if Roberto Osuna was traded to Cleveland or Red Sox, Yankees. Roberto Osuna has been my Favorite Closer the Last 3 Years. He has Fastball with movement, A Rising Fastball for a Strikeout, A Fastball to Jam the Hitters Hand for a weak Groundball, A North to South Slider for a Strikeout, A Changeup, and all his pitches hits both bottom corners of the strike zone.
The Orioles wanted Yordan Alvarez, Jeff Luhnow didn't want to trade for a half season rental, Britton coming off an injury. I agree with Jeff not trading for Britton in this scenario. Yordan is a great hitter and controllable for 7 seasons, only 20 years old.
Where is the outrage over Manziel still getting ESPN headlines despite being a scrub in a scrub league? Why is 1 girl beater better than the other? Forget about Osuna. He can do his job, earn his money, and go home. If he slips up again he's gone, but stop pretending you're a great person because you only want to see certain girl beaters play. Be your own role model, don't look to 25 guys on an mlb roster to fit some fantasy in your head.
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/houston-astros Keep scrolling down you will find the topic on Zach Britton. Jayson Stark reported Astros are adamant about not moving top prospects, Kyle Tucker, Forrest Whitley, Yordan Alvarez are being Protected. Seth Beer also for sure based on his dominance.
He just needs to smile and decline respectfully. Let his play on the mound do the talking. As with Giles, if he wins games, it'll be all right. If he messes up, on-field or off-field, there'll be problems. Reportedly he suffered anxiety issues and depression last year. A veteran taking him under his wing and a sports psychologist can help a lot. Gattis had a history of anxiety as well that made him give up baseball for a while.
Weird. I read that whole article and didn't see anything about the Astros and Orioles at an impasse because the Orioles were asking for Alvarez in a trade for Britton. Do you have a link showing the actual conversation?
If the Astros sinned by acquiring Osuna, consider it 1% compensation for Harvey. Also need TWO more World Series and Watson's health for five seasons. Harden shall win FMVP.
Manziel doesn’t play for a team I root for, he is a terrible human, but doesn’t affect my fandom in any way
First, I doubt that but I'll give you that hypothetical. Second, Osuna wasn't the only reliever the Astros could have traded for. In fact he is not the only reliever they traded for. So I don't see how they would have said he did nothing.
This unfortunate development on McCullers means him to the DL will be the corresponding move. Cionel Perez (who I expected to go down for Osuna) will get some more time. Though this now means Devo can come back sooner (if he's healthy enough) and not have to stay on the DL until September or burn an option.
I support trading Harris this offseason if we can (or declining his option) as a salary dump. If Harris is the corresponding move for Osuna, then there's still another vacancy on the 25-man. If they want to promote someone like James or Armenteros, there's still a vacancy on the 40-man.
After Osuna says his piece tomorrow and the team asks their necessary questions, I suggest the question to break the ice with him is: "Do you know how to play Fortnite?"
