Enough with all the fighting, I am Daryl Morey. Yes, we are looking to add another undersized PF.

Daryl Morey does not have a Clutchfans account.

Daryl Morey is Batman Jones’ burner account in real life.

Morey doesn't lie per se. But the very nature of his job REQUIRES him to be deceptive and also extremely limited in being forthcoming at certain moments. (Doesn't everyone understand that he has to be this way at times in order to be good at his job?)

"Do not have an account there" could very easily translate to "Do not have an account (that I use to post with) there. Knowing he comes here and reads things and "has even gotten trade ideas here" would lead any logical person to conclude that he probably has a shadow account here or has access to an account that Tad (or somebody else) set up for him to be able to use and track with.

Remember, this is the same man that you conversed with over lunch that left you with the impression that Terrence Jones was the third best player on the team and that he could become a star player. He didn't believe that. Hindsight is 20/20. If Morey has actually believed that then Terrence would have been signed to a long-term deal.

Whether he actually said that or not, I don't know. Because we human beings have ways of taking things people say and making more out of it than what they actually said (happens here in text every day), or flat-out misinterpreting what was said, and on the other side people have a tendency to tell little lies when it's convenient. And still others of us know how to tell the truth while being skilfully deceptive and manipulative with how we tell the truth without telling all the truth. (Attorneys are usually great at this......as are some NBA GM's.)

    1. We know Morey comes here and reads. (He's admitted that much.)

    2. We know he has denied having an account here. (Seems highly unlikely knowing that he comes here and reads the board.)

The truth is probably (and usually) in the middle somewhere. He probably has account that he uses, that he may or may not have set up.

(It would be convenient, truthful, and yet deceptive all at the same time to have an account he uses that he had his wife set up. You know.....kinda like Brian Colangelo's wife set up. And that the Colangelo's did lie about that his wife was actually posting all that player-related stuff....And some people actually believe that's what happened because they made up that bologna and sold it to the public. LOL)

Gotta read between the lines. Or continually be fooled by truthful deception.

He was. And he would probably have kicked that mask or threw it into the stands just like any competitive baller would have.

So that incident with Embiid, even the jack jawing , is just competition. Nothing bad should be made of it. CP3 does that stuff CONTINUOUSLY. And the home town team lives that he's that way. Winslow is another "knife fighter" as JVG would say. He's nasty. Love it.

....who jacks threes. Hey, 30% at the 3 point line is like, uh, 45% inside the arc. (Checks charts and stats.......)

Daryl Morey is Batman Jones’ burner human form.

What does it matter if Morey has an account here or not? He can lurk without one. He obviously reads it if he knows cyberx. so now what?

This thread topic is the best one so far in this methodical offseason. If the Rockets can turn Ryno’s overpriced contract into an overpriced contract that can contribute anything, then they improve. Carmelo will be replacing what Ryno was supposed to contribute. What Melo lacks in floor spacing relative to Ryno, he makes up for in his versatile scoring ability. No more pump fake and reset. Melo can score. We need Ryno’s contract to take on some overpriced contract to help recoup what Ariza brought. Mbah moute is replaced by Ennis (I still think Mbah Moute helped way more than given credit for *pre-injury*).

If we believe James Johnson or Winslow can be had, it makes sense that “something needs to happen first.” They got tax probs. The Heat have two things that have yet to be resolved: 1) They still have disgruntled problem child Whitesode, 2) They are still waiting on Dwyane Wade’s plans. All they know is he’s playing Miami or retiring. He’s said as much publicly. All speculation, of course, going by what reputable posters are hinting.

    Soapbox on insiders:

FWIW, I’ve only bought into @ch44, @Codman, and @cyberx as posters with legit access to nba personnel transaction info. Doesn’t mean it always happens, but I’m sure what they say has been discussed. Thanks to them for sharing with us. @Batman Jones is a friend of Morey’s who are both stakeholders in something outside of basketball. Why would he throw that trust away by risking the perception of being unprofessional? Even if they do discuss Rockets stuff, why would Batman Jones violate their confidentiality and ruin their unrelated venture? @The Cat is our hype man, @BimaThug is our cap man, and both give us info to help us make educated guesses on the Rockets’ next move. @KellyUnchained has a great opportunity to be the liaison between clutchfans and mainstream Rockets personnel. All thanks to @Clutch. Robert Horry is the goat.

Another thing the Heat are trying to accomplish is to shed a little salary this season to get under the luxury tax line.

So if you're going to consider possible trades with the Heat you have to keep this in mind. James Johnson alone straight up for Anderson adds over $6 million to their cap and isn't even doable without the Heat at least adding $1.6 millon in salary. Take a look at their roster and figure out how to with that. They've either got to throw in macgruder and jones, jr or they've got to their in another bigger contract.

In the first case......if they were to add another $5 million in salary both this season and next them they'd probably ask for at least one pick.

In the second case, adding a bigger contract, the most logical contract to add would be either Olynk......or Winslow. Or both. An Olynk/Johnson package for Anderson and other salary...works be a deal that Miami would favor.....But it would leave us on the hook for an extra year on Olynk's deal. We'd need to get some kind of asset back to do that. Either a future pick.....Or possibly Winslow?????

So bottom line is James Johnson could be a possibility. But there'll be a lot more to an Anderson/JJ trade than just those two. And the real importance, the real value of the trade works reside in the rest of it outside of Anderson/JJ.

Gotta give props to you when they're deserved, Holic: You're always good for a laugh.

The idea that Daryl Morey picks up trade ideas on CF is beyond ridiculous. I guarantee you that there is no trade ever suggested here that has any merit whatsoever that DM hasn't already considered. And as you of all people should know, 90% of suggested trades on CF are idiotic at best. The other 10% are things that any good GM would have already thought through.

But the real laugh here is imagining you typing the above and thinking, "I know that Morey reads my trade ideas with interest because he can tell I really know my ****, unlike these other guys who are just fans on a forum."

    Never stop being you, BBH.

I don't want to ruin the mood but not sure how important those twitter follows etc are...i remember Dragic starting to follow the Rockets during the deadline years ago and he got traded to Miami, Morey started to follow Millsap when he was a free agent with Atlanta and he resigned there...are there any actual examples of players that ended up with teams/players they started to follow? I mean, not even Melo ended up here last summer when Nene followed him or posted that he was basically already here, i can't remember exactly what it was now but, yeah...

The laugh is on you for imagining what you think I imagine. Morey actually stated the above quote. Whether he was being truthful or comical you can imagine about just as you imagine about what I imagine about.

    Now that's funny.
