Why does it have to have been made public for it to be true? Just because your boys Jeff Passan and Olney didn’t tweet about it..

Oh I am dense? You are the one that made a statement without any factual proof to back up your claim.

Then how can it be proven as the truth? See this is how conspiracy theories happen with this line of thinking.

You can believe if you wish or not believe. I posted about it over a year ago. I only addressed it this time because some were arguing that the Astros interest in Osuna was because he had hurt his trade value.

Not sure if the context is sarcasm, but, Colorado did cost Kobe an MVP.

Again not true. Just because you posted something over a year ago does not make it true. There is not one article that states they Jays were shopping Osuna last year as you claimed nor is there anything about Jays almost trading him to the Astros. Astros were interested in Osuna I am sure as other teams would be interested in someone this young and this talented. Doesn't mean the Jays were shopping him last year liked you claimed earlier.

Bro, word of advice, Nook is known on this board as a bit of an insider. He's definitely in the know on things the rest of us aren't.

I hope that your only power of persuasion is directed to Hall of Fame voters. First off people (3rdparty) will call the police for just about anything. Second, I don't know what Canada's laws are on domestic violence, but here in texas there does not have to be a lot of evidence of assault for a person to be arrested. 3rd, I am under the impression that he was advised to accept the suspension to avoid it from carrying on for a long time. Supposedly Canada courts carry-on. I surely don't condone domestic violence and I believe if it comes out that he is a woman beater, cast him to an island with Bubba the woman beater beater. I would hope that he is innocent of gross transgressions. If he is innocent, that whatever troubles the young man can be addressed.

Last Year if the Jays wanted to trade him, Osuna was untouchable until the Incident.
The Cost for the Astros would've been 2 High Level Prospects of Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez, Forrest Whitley
When the Cubs traded for Aroldis Chapman as a RENTAL. Gleyber Torres was traded from the Cubs. Gleyber was having a Rookie of the Year type numbers, as 2B, SS but got injured, playing well now. Aroldis Chapman went back to the Yankees and have Gleyber Torres.
I think with the Closer Situation, nobody has dominated with the Astros. Roberto Osuna has been my Top Closer.
As a 20 - 22 year old, Closing Games in Playoff Atmosphere, going against the Top Hitters in the Playoffs. There is this Calm Demeanor about Roberto, he is a very smart pitcher, He has different types of Fastballs
A Rising Fastball for a Strikeout, A Fastball that jams the hitters hands for a weak Groundball, Fastball he hits the corners with. A Downward Slider that looks a lot like Brad Lidge Slider, It goes North to South. A Changeup he hits on the Corners.

    43 pages already?

This is probably gonna be the most popular thread in the Astros section history on an individual player.

“It’s easy to put it behind me,” Giles said of his turbulent ending in Houston, which also included a May 1 tantrum in which he punched himself in the jaw. “I mean, once it happened, it happened, you can’t change anything about it. All you do is what you learn from that situation. There are dumb things I wish I did better to conceal, sometimes the way things were going it’s hard to conceal that stuff. You know what? I know I can do better. I know I can learn something. So I’m just going to take it in stride and be a better person.”

The trade to the Blue Jays, said Giles, who at points over the past 4½ seasons has been among the most dominant relievers in the big leagues, was a fresh start. He’s young in his career with room to grow, he pointed out. There were adjustments he needed to make, he acknowledged. Some had already taken hold during his time at Fresno, he believes.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons, no stranger to run-ins with players, spoke briefly with Giles before the game. They discussed mutual acquaintances. A few basics. Nothing too heavy.

“He had open arms to me,” said Giles. “He told me to be myself, that’s what I’m going to do.”

Did the incident with Hinch come up?

“You mean like ask him please don’t do it with me?” Gibbons quipped. “Those things happen in baseball. I’ve been part of them. They don’t happen a lot, but there are a lot of cameras around now, too. He’s a part of this organization, just like Roberto is a part of that one now. I told him make yourself at home, enjoy it and go get them. I don’t worry about that.”

Gibbons intends to install Giles as the Blue Jays closer, a role he struggled in during Houston’s World Series run last year and at times this season, but not until letting him get his feet wet in a lower-leverage spot, first.

“There are numbers where it doesn’t look so pretty but there are other numbers that make me really attractive,” said Giles. “That’s why I believe I’m here, I have those numbers, I’ve proven myself over the course of my years in the big leagues. I’ve just got to make my adjustments right now. Sometimes making adjustments isn’t easy, especially in the big leagues, but I’m working very hard to establish myself again and that’s what I’m going to do right now.”

Theories abound as to what’s led him to get hit harder of late, and Giles feels stuff aside, he needs to adjust to the way batters have attacked him.

“I got a great feel for my slider when I got demoted to triple-A, I got my slider back, now it’s about me establishing my fastball better to make me more successful,” he said. “Knowing that guys are going to ambush me early, I’ve got to be more prepared.

“I am prepared overall, but sometimes you don’t expect some guys to ambush you as early as (they did) early in the season. I’m ready to make those adjustments and I’m ready to make the next leap forward to great performances.”

“My mentality off the field is a laid back, sarcastic guy,” said Giles. “On the field, it’s all about business. I go out there with a vengeance and with a mission and I go out to war with those guys out there, and make sure I give them the best chance to win a ballgame. That’s the mentality I’m going to stick with.”

One would have hoped that distinction would have been saved for one of our most popular players.

Ugh, I hate how facebook and other social media has become a hub of political comments, social justice, complaints and arguments attacking everyone.. My one free space on the internet was Clutchfans.. just stay out of the D&D and all was good and about sports. Ppl still get dumb and argue players and skills but at least it was still 90% sports.

Now it is a bunch of whining about a golden team being morally corrupt and everyone getting their very important 2 cents about how morally disgusted they are, or it's ppl who argue against them which apparently means they are pro-domestic violence.

Just like anywhere else on the internet... if you show even an inkling of support against or question the social justice warrior then that means you are racist, hate women, love domestic abuse or whatever.. It's not always black or white.

So if all the poo flinging has subsided; when he is eligible to actually pitch for the Astros?

    Sunday I believe.

Someone was saying that he may not be the closer right away. I have no idea if that is the case.
