These rumors about the Rockets being active in the trade market would make a lot of sense if there are hiccups in this Melo negotiation.
To be fair, Jopat gave us some great stuff. We're all still high on it. And he had to split into multiple usernames upon implosion. Like Clutchfans' Sybil.
Essentially, you did plus a 2nd and maybe a 1st involved and Hartenstein and Edwards. Now exact quote. Question still remains. Why does Miami do this? I understand Johnson and Winslow but that is even wishful thinking. Is this an avenue to trading Capela for you? Who are we getting for a Capela package?
I'd faint if we manage to get JJ + Winslow for Anderson + filler. Hell, Winslow alone would be incredible. Easily an upgrade over Ariza.
I explained why. He was asking me to post something and in the course of doing that he said something like "contrary to popular belief I don't actually have an account there." I take him at his word because (a) we're friends and I don't believe he lies to me for no good reason, and (b) he had no reason to bring it up unless it was actually true (he could have just said "can you post this?") so had no reason to bring it up when I'd never asked unless it happened to be true. I don't care who believes it. Just passing along info on an open question from a pretty solid source. As for "this is morey we are talking about," do you mean that he's known for lying or that he's known for anonymous accounts or online mischief? I'm not aware if he's known for either thing and knowing him either thing would surprise me. I think maybe you overestimate the value of him posting here or elsewhere, anonymously or otherwise. He's a really busy guy.
After going through so many scenarios, I think the the Kings are the most likely trade partners for Anderson. I don't think they want him or his contract, I think they would be interested in a 1st round pick, plus Melton and perhaps a future 2nd rounder for the expiring contracts of Shumpert and Kosta Koufos and fillers. This is sheer speculation on my part. I think that would be a bit too much to give up for Anderson. The Rockets should wait until he starts playing better, and re-visit any potential trade partners in February 2019.
I would chalk up Embiid situation as heat of moment blip because Winslow was known as uber high character with insane work ethic coming out of Duke. As for his game, kind of like MKG without the broken shooting form.
Winslow. James Johnson. Otto Porter. None of these are realistic. Just because they’re not untouchable doesn’t mean we can attain them. Other teams exist in this league and can put together a better package if a team is actually desperate to get rid of Winslow or Porter (which they are not). Guys that are 6-8 years younger than Ryno will not be traded for him. Guys that are playable that make half his salary will not be traded for him. Young guys that are starting and one of the best players on their own team will not be traded for him. I don’t even think Bazemore is that realistic because he’s still playable and our sweeteners suck. I think Ryno’s connection with Sacramento is our best chance (They also don’t have their first round pick next year), but even then the contracts they’re looking to dump all have one year remaining as opposed to Ryno’s two.
I would believe @Batman Jones - I met Daryl before the play that they created together. Why would he lie? He is a very honest guy.
No, I didn't. I simply know he's one of our targets. And if we did acquire him the deal autos likely include taking on more salary (and tax) and choosing us assets. Anderson isn't an asset.
Nothing wrong with Embiid situation. Winslow is highly competitive. I can name a whole string of great players, including, including Bird, Magic, MJ, Shaq, Kobe, and urges who attitude done the same thing. I'm not putting Winslow in their class as a player. I'm just showing you that Winslow is highly competitive just add they were/are. That's a good thing if you're interested in winning basketball games.
