You stand by an openly racist President and are openly racist yourself. Why do you hold a private company to a higher standard than you hold yourself and the President of the country?

Yeah, those are real stretches. Many of them are disputed, several are open to interpretation, some are out of context. I don't see racism there at all. The articles are very biased. For example, calling Afghanistan a terrorist haven is hardly racist. Saying that minorities in inner cities (that are infested with crime and drugs) are 'living in hell' is not racist. Hyperbole, yes, but not racist. Calling Kaepernick an SOB is not racist. Calling Liz Warren by the name of Pocahontas is not racist. Those are all stretches, really.
I wouldn't hire her..... but it is mostly because someone with a lazy eye shouldn't be taking shots at someone else.
Look at this sad attempt of whataboutism. Since your side is is such warriors for injustice and racism then it shouldn't be a problem to denounce this hiring instead you bring in a sad and pathetic argument full of ad hominem. This is why your side is so toxic.
The Brewers pitcher had some bad tweets uncovered and he still has a job after apologizing. Why should this journalist get fired?
Her statement is believable (people say some pretty stupid stuff during flamewars; the Trump phenomenon in particular rode the Twitter hatemob/****-posting wave into office, so...) but the fact she said these things without really attempting to conceal her identity or clean up the mess after the fact kinda shows enough poor judgment to me that she may not be qualified for such a position.
Not only that, he got a standing O for it from the super red district in which he plays. Hader's tweets were as a teenager, I believe. This woman's tweets were in her mid-20s. Worth considering. Also worth considering that conservatives, by and large, have been outspoken against this type of online history muckracking shame mob tactics to silence, deplatform, or otherwise harm someone's career or reputation.
He was hired for his athletic ability. She was hired for her opinions. Her opinions are shitty racist opinions.
If she tweeted out any of those things about any race other than white people she would have been labeled an alt right nazi and would never get hired by NYT or any other mainstream media outlets. I'm pretty sure she would have been blacklisted from ever working a job in the media. A lot of people have been fired for much less. I'm justing pointing out the double standard.
Poor oppressed white people, lol. As a white person, I have no problem with what she said as I know where it comes from. Plus, I’m one of the good ones.
It's culturally acceptable racism, so I'm sure no one will really care and let's face it, I'm sure she'll fit in well at the NYT......and it's part of the reason why fewer and fewer people put any stock in media opinion.
Also worth considering that none of the other publications she has worked for - Forbes, The Guardian, Vice, etc... - have had a problem with her. This is only an issue to some because it is the NY Times, the fact that she's a minority woman from Berkeley and Harvard is probably just the icing on their sad little cake.
she was hired about her opinions ON TECHNOLOGY. Now tell me where being a "shitty racist" impacts her ability to report on TECHNOLOGY
She should be fired but if she called African countries shitholes, called Mexicans rapists, and called Nazis fine people she could be a Republican President. Go figure.
