It would be nice if Keuchel pitched a gem tomorrow and we take the series. Would love to see him dominate that lineup tomorrow.
Battle of the lefties. Keuchel pitched great last time @SEA and Stros have knocked LeBlanc around all season. May Springer heal quickly.
Tucker's best role for the season is coming off the bench to be the 4th OF. Kemp, Springer and Reddick should start come playoffs and a guy like McCutchen hasn't been claimed. Let Tucker ease into things instead of being counted on to contribute to a WS hopeful.
I love Altuve and Correa being there for teammates, more so Altuve since Correa is close to being back. #27 had the right to stay home and chill on his injury.
Was thinking sweep the way the game started. Nice to see the bats waking up a bit. Hopefully the boys can get to LeBlanc early so DK can cruise this afternoon.
I keep falling asleep right before the 9 inning in all these late games! That's on me, John. A nice win. I would be happy if we just broke even on this road road trip with all of the injuries.
Morton had some nice things to say about how Maldonaldo worked behind the plate. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/texas-sports-nation/astros/article/Balls-Strikes-Astros-newcomer-Martin-Maldonado-13122059.php?utm_campaign=chron&utm_source=article&utm_medium=https://m.chron.com/sports/astros/article/Astros-end-five-game-losing-streak-with-victory-13121878.php
Certainly helps that he played within the division and has much of the same scheduled the Astros have. He knows the players. There is some genius in trading for a catcher within the division.
Great stuff, glad Morton gave him some props and some good insight into why he is so valuable. Also, cool that they gave him a Mills/Bo Porter-esque nickname already. So what's the word on Springer? Hopefully he will be okay but the optimist in mean is hoping Kyle Tucker can get going and start playing consistently. Looks like he had a decent night at the plate last night so hopefully he can build on it. Also, I really hope Correa can come back and just be a beast. He has surprised me before by showing surprising focus after an injury but expectations should be tempered since this is a back injury. I assume he will destroy minor league pitching and hopefully get in a groove before being back with the big club shortly. Keep the faith!
