The only season this guy got significant minutes was in 2014-2015 with NOP. He played in 45 games and started 28 of them. He played 27.8 minutes a game. He averaged 11.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists. (1.5 steals and 0.4 blocks) - Per36 He shot .449 from the field and .433 from three. 6-7 with a 7-0 wingspan. He is turning 30 this year. He is a fantastic defender. He is finally healthy. Career 3-point percentage = .357 on 575 attempts. Quincy Pondexter Career 3-point percentage = .353 on 3721 attempts. Trevor Ariza BTW, Eric Gordon liked his tweet. I smell something brewing here. "Defensively, Pondexter has continued his great play all season, showing outstanding versatility in man-to-man defense, good fundamentals in the post and on the perimeter, while also showing very good rotational awareness, being a vocal leader for the Huskies defense. He's not the biggest or strongest player you'll find, as definitely projects as a small forward defensively in the NBA, having nearly ideal physical tools otherwise for that role, but also possessing the versatility to defend multiple positions, along with a high level of focus and effort. Quincy Pondexter ranks as the third most efficient overall scorer on our rankings at 1.066 PPP. He was the second ranked isolation scorer at 0.972 PPP, and scored roughly 1.3 PPP off of 4.4 possessions per-game off of basket cuts and offensive rebounds. He proves well above average as a finisher, and his 42% shooting on pull up jump shots ranks him fourth in this group."
Okey doke. Are you saying Morey picked him up, Morey is thinking of picking him up, or are you suggesting that Morey picks him up, or that Morey played him 1-on-1 and got a lot of steals?
He looks good in that footage.... but his stats from last year in Chi-town.... That being said, looks like Melo was impressed! (Does that make this a Melo thread now?)
Working out with CP3 and Melo (And probably Harden). Eric Gordon liking his tweets? Read his tweets. It's happening baby. He is coming to Houston.
If I recall he had a horrible illness that involved botched surgery and infection, etc. Felt bad for him for sure, especially because understandably it was kind of on the DL for a while and all the NOP fans were upset at him, his contract, etc. Not like it was his fault. Obviously picking him up would require a ton of scouting and feeling great about his current health and gameshape and capabilities.
completely forgot about pondexter over the past year or so.. has always been a really high iq player on both sides of the ball and was one of the better 3 and D players a few years back. if he truly is healthy for once, would be a great low-risk high reward type move.
No I didn't. I just thought his contract was too long and that money should have been spent on Beasley and Nick Young.
IF he can play then, yes please! His knee? I sure he would like the income of still being in the league. Sign him to a 3yr /minimum (1yr 100% / 2&3yr 25% guaranteed & performance bonuses). Win/win
