I'm actually in favor of the move.... but the Melo fans are already becoming borderline Linsanity level here. And he hasn't even signed with the team yet.
Come on guys, lets quit the nitpicking stuff. Let's enjoy this season and put all our hopes into the best results happening. We gotta speak it into existence and believe beyond doubts. Bringing negative energy to the team is not going to help.
I resent that. Lin fans are a whole different level. They want to force guys to bow down to Lin. I want Melo to fit in, play his game, play hard and win.
In fairness, I'm all for move for Melo. But the flip side is... it doesn't work out. Melo could get hurt, not fit, speak out publicly, etc. I think it will work but we just have to hope for the best.
Well Luc did play, but your points above are still right... which is why the below ... is insane. Starting Melo would be a distinct change to the philosophy that won 65 games and had the Warriors down 3-2 in the playoffs. ??? Because of his long track record of deep playoff runs?? Lol. I'm as big a CP3 guy as anyone...as its a team sport after all. I just don't recall any amazing past history of CP3 the general manager being super on point??
We pretty much got 2nd biggest free agent behind Cousins for vet min. Yall really listening w little too much Skip Bayless if yall think Ariza defense was that stellar. And he sucked big time on offence. For facts, because Luc lost it mid season, we retained our 3 best playoffs defenders in CP Pj and Capela. We still have Gordon. We added Carmelo. We are good and we should be happy because besides gsw we are most stacked team in nba
I DON'T THINK PEOPLE ARE UNDERSTANDING.....I think Melo is going to replace Ryan Anderson at the Power Forward, not Ariza at Small Forward. Melo is no longer a Small Forward! All of the people who are negating the move don't understand. Outside of PJ, after the month of Feb, all of our FORWARDS were basically useless. Ariza couldn't score and Luc couldn't get back into the rotation. I think right now Ennis is going to be the Small Forward and when or if Melo sign, he will be the Power Forward. With Gordon, MCW and Green, I think Tucker will be better served coming off the bench. MCW will handle the ball, setting up Gordon, Green and Tucker. Starters Bench Additional Center - Capella Hardenstein NeNe Power Forward- Melo Tucker Qi Small Forward- Ennis Green Edwards Guard- Harden Gordon Melton Guard- CP3 MCW
There are only 3 positions these days. Playmakers- Harden/Paul Bigs- Capela Finshers- Melo/EGO/Tucker/Green
I didn't watch much Rockets ball outside of the playoffs and a few games here and there so you would know more than me.
Agree that Melo is starting 4 in Rockets offense. PJ is better at 4 at this stage of career BUT PJ will start at 3 until a better option is acquired. Unless he is playing the 5 when Rockets go small ball death line up with EGo against certain teams.
