don't know how to feel about this cause the guy is a ****ing scumbag but he's pretty much the closer we needed all things considered... all i know is the guy better be working every day to improve himself because his past is disgusting. people forget about chapman's past cause he's lights out.
I already sold my soul last year when I pretended that I didn't care about Yuli's eye gesture. Bring it on.
Baseball move: I love it. As a person: don’t like it at all. I’m interested to see how he fits in the clubhouse.
Their playoff bullpen is going to be amazing: McCullers or Morton Osuna Rondon McHugh Pressly Devenski Sipp Peacock With Harris, Smith, C Perez, and Whitley all on standby. Crazy.
I"m pretty disgusted by this deal. I'm also pretty surprised. The Astros clubhouse seems like a bunch of pretty good dudes. Writers (national and local) have said as much that are around them. This seems like not a good dude. I'm not going to boycott the Astros or anything, but I can't imagine myself standing and cheering anymore when we get the 27th out of a home game (or road game for that matter). This move, to be honest, is really a bummer for me.
Crane must have a total grip on the ownership group..... good for him, he has earned it. This trade is a win/win for both teams. The Astros were finished with Giles. If Osuna doesn't stay out of trouble and improve his life, then the Astros can cut him.
This move has absolutely nothing to do with the players already on the team. The decision was ultimately made by Crane and the ownership group after being presented the information by Jeff Luhnow. If Osuna doesn't act like a solid citizen, then the Astros can dump him. Hinch will not tolerate anything that isn't appropriate.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Houston options Osuna to the minors for the rest of August until rosters expand. Otherwise they are looking at carrying 14 pitchers, cutting someone of value, or optioning someone who doesn’t deserve it (Devenski).
Osuna is NAILS in really important games. His post season numbers have been exceptional. ALSO all the missed time does NOT count against his service time so the Astros will have him for awhile. As long as he has his home life straightened out, he will be very good. He also is known as a very big competitor.
