All fair points. This Congress will decide collusion is foul-smelling but allowable. Expect some dramatic tweets and statements in interviews... all with zero tangible action.

The American voters will have a chance to decide what is okay in just a few months. November will be pretty important in this sad story.

 

Does the Trump base and all those I did not vote for Trump but ... people care if Trump colluded with Russia? I doubt it.

 

So funny... bet this was an awkward flight!

Honestly, I would think they don't, at all. He's "shaking things up." No more "business as usual." And "what's wrong being closer to Russia?" And I can see an emerging "better Putin than Hillary!" (Damn, this stuff writes itself! I'm in the wrong line of work.)

Wow... I've seen more trials than I care to admit, but that's a lot of witnesses.

EDIT: I've sat on criminal juries but admittedly never one with these types of charges. Perhaps for laundering money, etc., you get all sorts of bookkeepers with knowledge of the paper trail and various ledgers, tax docs, etc.

 

We are ALL witnesses.

 

Two really interesting names: Tad Devine (chief strategist of the Bernie Sanders campaign)... and Rick Gates.

 

A heck of a witness list with some big names in there. I bet the White House is like an anthill that's been kicked right now.

 

Like i said, does it matter? We will see in less than 100 days.

 

That's the same thing they've been saying all along, that Trump didn't collude, but even if he did, that's not a crime. Now I don't know if that's true or not, but that has literally always been their story.

 

Just curious, if it is proven he colluded with Russians or attempted to collude, what do you think should be done.

 

It depends on if any actual laws were broken or not but probably between nothing and a slap on the wrist censure that Bill Clinton got for perjury and obstruction of justice....unless the "attempted collusion" was about more than buying hacked secrets about Hillary and the DNC. If it was about hacking electronic ballot boxes in order to change results, that would be different, but again, it would have to be proven and not just alleged.

 

Keep in mind... Rick Gates is on the witness list in the Manafort trial starting tomorrow. And it is believed that Gates has been cooperating with Mueller's investigation.

 

Unfortunately nothing will happen because the levers of our presidential oversight in this country are 100% political. If "the base" doesn't care, nothing will be done in oversight from Congress.

What SHOULD they do? Well Congress ( with support of their voters) SHOULD vote to remove him from office. The fact that it even has to be asked whether or not a president should be removed if they are compromised, and sought the help from a foreign power to get into office, is embarrassing as a country that we has sunk this low.

To Trump voters - there is nothing you are getting from Trump that you wouldn't get from Mike Pence or Paul Ryan except for "owning libs" on the internet. Even Pence knows how to troll a little bit.

If this man is compromised or worked with a foreign power to get elected, the patriotic American thing to do is to CHOOSE Pence or Ryan. Its the right American thing to do, but its not my place to speak for you. YOU GUYS have to be the one to speak up, and let your representatives know you prefer Pence because you think its a bad thing that the president is compromised to American interests.
