One interesting thing is that Osuna should have options remaining, so he technically could be sent to the minors. Giles for Osuna straight up who says no?

Even if I had to throw in another prospect.

Donaldson is also a guy Iwould be looking at. At worst he could be Correa insurance and an upgrade at DH.

We clearly will not have any interest in a POS like Osuna

Caveats about judging others aside, I agree. Luhnow and the Astros seem fairly sensitive to character issues, and as a fan I prefer it that way.

    Astros do

Just not the kind of guy Luhnow would bring in with all this going on. He is about to be off suspension but the legal case will still be ongoing. He simply wouldn’t go there

If we do a deal with Toronto it would more lonely be Donaldson...even that is doubtful, but if we think he has a decent chance to be healthy and the prospect cost is very minimal, I think it would be a good add.

The Astros ownership is made up of a lot of very wealthy people, primarily in the Houston socialite scene. It is very likely that a number of those invested would not support Osuna going to the Astros. Perhaps Crane would be able to talk them into agreeing, but it would be a big ordeal. The Astros would really have to want Osuna to even consider it.

This isn't a situation where it is the Yankees ... it would require a lot of phone calls.

Having said that, I would gladly deal Giles for Osuna.

I don't want to see Osuna go to the Yankees/Boston/Cleveland.

Nah, Giles only punches himself in the face......not his wife. Hard pass.

    I would do it.

If Osuna doesn't stay out of trouble we can release him.

I know Osuna can get guys out in pressure situations.... can't say that about Osuna.

However I understand where you are coming from and I have no idea of the severity of his actions either.

There's a pretty big difference between a two-month rental, and a generational catcher approaching Molina/Posey level of talent who has more than 2 years of control left.

Not quite sure what we'd need to land Dickerson, maybe take one of the guys out. Realmuto, yeah, throw in another guy or two. These were just "starting points" I guess.

I do think Houston will add a bat. Could be a small move like they did with Cameron Maybin last year and could very well happen after the deadline. But I do think they will make at least one more move. Could make up to 3 moves (RP, Realmuto, bat).
