    I know KK's supposedly headed for Philly, but...MKG and Korver = RA's 20...

He's a good shooter no doubt but is he better than Ryno on a good day? For partial MLE, the price is right, but the truth is we need a 3&D wing, not another non-defensive shooter at PF.

The Rockets’ window with 33-year-old (turns 34 next May) CP3 is realistically the next two years, maybe 3 at most. So your brilliant idea is to keep a $20 million Ryan Anderson that is unplayable against the very team standing between the Rockets and a championship for another season, potentially wasting one of those opportunities in the process. Your logic is insane. The Rockets need to turn Anderson into a rotation player that can play against Golden State now, not next season, whether its Batum, Bazemore, Harkless, Aminu, James Johnson, etc.

Also, Batum only makes 3.6 million more than Anderson this year, and 4.3 million more next year. The only crippling aspect of his contract compared to Anderson’s is his 27 million player option in 2020-2021. But that salary could be used to add another elite player that season or be moved as an expiring, too.

Your post lacks logic and your reasoning is heavily flawed. Trading Anderson who is still serviceable for Batum who is very much over the hill for more money AND more years with a PO of 27 million is the true insane statement. Heck yeah I would rather have 1 more year of Ryno than 3 years (with that contract it's guaranteed that's what it would be) of washed up lazy Batum.

Now, if the Rockets can turn RA into Bazemore or James Johnson I'm all for it but trading him for Batum is absolutely ludicrous.

The 0-27 was mostly due to fatigue from being so short handed, partly because Anderson being completely out of form. Can RA recover? Maybe he can. But, it will take time. Scott is not as good as prime RA, but that is not who we are dealing with. Scott shot over 60 percent from the 3 point line against good tight defense from Toronto, for 10.8 points in 21 minutes in the recent playoffs. He can finish at the rim, with a fair amount of explosiveness and strength too. I do agree with you, the 3/D wing is a more pressing need. Thanks, for your nice post.

I guess we're all entitled to our opinions, but I for 1 think CP will surprise everyone if he can stay healthy. The guy is a legitimate HOF PG, probably the best that's ever put on a Rockets jersey even on the wrong side of 30. He's a bulldog, just fights. If he can stay healthy, I don't expect his production to decrease by much. Hopefully we can get a few wings here that can lock people up and make open shots, that'll help extend CP career. If the other guys are hitting shots, he can focus on what he does which is facilitate and hit the mid-range when it presents itself.

Man... that's a bunch of has-beens and guys struggling to stay in the league. Not sure any of those guys help other than the obvious Crawford and Marvin.

Waiting is good. I see no need to hurry. Need to investigate every trade possibility. So we get the absolute best deal we can. Leading up to the trade deadline. Our picks are trade leverage. We can add them to guys like Gordon and Capela to get someone special.

Worth noting, we are running low on roster spots.

    1 Chris Paul
    2 James Harden
    3 Ryan Anderson
    4 Clint Capela
    5 Eric Gordon
    6 PJ Tucker
    7 Nene
    8 Carmelo Anthony
    9 James Ennis
    10 Chinanu Onuaku
    11 Michael Carter Williams
    12 Gerald Green
    13 Zhou Qi
    14 De'Anthony Melton
    15 Isaiah Hartenstein
    16 Vincent Edwards

MCW is probably a training camp cut, as he is non guaranteed.

    Onuaku might be given away.

I think Qi has show enough to stick around.

Melton / Edwards / Hartenstein too fresh to just drop.

For sure, I would love to have a sharp shooter that doesn't cost us 20 million then goes cold when he's needed most. Not only do we need a 3&D wing but we need to dump RA's salary anchor.

MCW is partially guaranteed for up to 1.2 M. I too thought, he was on a non guaranteed contract.

Dumping RA's salary anchor is highly unlikely, until he shows some form in the regular season.

MKG's jumper is unlikely to improve, but at least he can defend. Korver would be way better than RA, right now.
